How to get free high qualtiy content to use for freebie reports
A common strategy to get email optins is to create a free report or ebook to encourage people to give up their email address in exchange your freebie.
You can also use your freebie in a social content locker and give it away in exchange for a like or share to help get traffic.
You may also be able to post these on some ebook/PDF sharing sites, but I haven't tried this...be sure to check the TOS of each site to see if the content has to be original.
Your job is to be a great editor/publisher, researching the best articles to use in your report. No need to use articles about the same thing. Mix up the topics a bit, being sure that they are relevant to the topic. Spend an afternoon and grab 5-8 of the HIGH QUALITY articles. The higher the quality of the articles, the better your subscribers will like you.
It's really easy to create a freebie report using the major article directories. Just paste them into a program like Word or OpenOffice and export the file as a PDF, then upload it to your site and give out the URL for download.
You can even jazz it up using some images from a free public domain image site like www.Pixabay.com.
Be honest and keep the authors' contact/bio info. If someone is subscribing to your email list, it doesn't matter if they click on an author's link in your PDF. You have their email address to follow up time and time again. Plus, you aren't "leaking" link juice either, so you have nothing to lose by keeping your end of the agreement.
Call your report something like "Dog Training Allstars" or "Dog Training Experts", "Dog Training Summit"..."Think Tank", "Hall of Fame", etc.
Because I always include author bios, I'm more likely to use PLR content in the actual email, if not my own content, so I don't lose clicks. However, if you need to send quality content often and consistently to "warm" an email list and some have high quality content from the article directories, add the articles calling them something like "special guest author" or "guest expert", etc. In the long run, it's much better to send high quality content and lose some clicks than to send them junk.
Remember, only people in the IM niche are really aware of article directories. People in almost all of the other niches won't have a clue.
