What Should I email my list? PLZ HELP

Hi everyone,

I am currently building my list and read that you should wait till you have about 1000 subs to start doing adswaps. So here is my question: what should I mail my people when I am not yet at 1000 subs?
Could anyone help me out with that?

Thanks so much!
Nicolas

    Hi Nicolas,

If you got a lists you should do is promote your product using your email marketing strategy. But before you do that you should introduce yourself and build a rapport from it.

That’s the list of people who you DON’T email because you think it will annoy them.

I hear it all the time-

    “People will think it’s SPAM”
“I don’t want to bug them”
“I don’t know what to say”

    And so on.

The facts are indisputable- the more often you email your marketing list, the less likely you are to get unsubscribers. You can check the data on this slide deck

    Think of it this way…

The more you email someone with content or an offer that adds value to their day, the more they will look at you as helpful (or authoritative). They may not read every email but they stay on your list because every now and then you hit them with content they love.

The less you email someone, the more likely they are to forget about you entirely and report you as a spammer.

You should stay in constant communication with your list (or they will forget about you and the list will turn "cold" and useless to any marketing efforts.

Send them information pertinent to the niche they signed up for.

Sprinkle affiliate promotions as appropriate. Perhaps continue to monetize as you grow.

Write at a minimum of once per week, maybe more depending on your list and relationship with them.

    Begin a "marketing cycle."

  • It would be best to:

    1. Introduce yourself and what do you do
    2. Give them freebies and good content
    3. Send your emails smartly. Some get turned off with too much emails and poor value, so might as well offer tips, freebies, good info to your list.
    4. Soft sell but in a manner where they can get more value from you. "Here's a great book that will blah blah blah and maybe you can place a link which will lead them to purchase in order to access full content" (just an example
    5. Segment your list according to their activity.

    Hope this helps!

I would say the first place to look is content repurposing. Can you tease blog content? Can you transcribe your YouTube videos? Can you pull teasers out of your products?

    Email your list stories.

Stories about your everyday life, business success or failures.

Just tell them stories about what you've been through and what you're planning to do.

Make sure the Story has a point, and then transition it to CTA of your product.

Learn Email Storytelling, it's best you can do to increase your Email engagement, opne rates, ctr and conversion rate.

Also you can email them something they value like tips or some niche focused content.

    First Introduce yourself.
I would first send them info on Instagram. (Related to what they got before.)
Move to other social media info.
Slowly introduce the other content but continue to focus on Instagram Social Media properties.

You built the list on Instagram continue that niche (you can always expand upon it.)

Learn the ropes with this list before you go full MMO on them.

The follow-up sequence of your emails is a very important step worth mastering if you want to truly earn on autopilot. When someone signs up to your list, they will automatically be sent the first email through your autoresponder series welcoming them onto your list. You can also have links directing them to the free gift you promised on sign up in this first email.

See the complete step by step email marketing guide

Now, this is where it gets interesting.
You can also set up a couple of follow up emails to be sent automatically to your list without you having to lift a finger – once you set it up from the beginning. This is what it could look like…
Email #1: Introduction, Bonus, Welcome to my list (or whatever you prefer) Then it is time to get into relationship building. This is what it could look like:
Email #2: Valuable Information That is Relevant (send 1 day later)

Email #3: Let them know a little bit about yourself. (send 3 days later)

Email #4: I just created a bonus for you. (send 3 days later)
Email #5: Promotional offer (send 3 days later)
Email #6: Industry insight, follow by a promotion (send 1 day later)
Email #7: Value based information, connect on a personal level (send 7 days later) You have just set up 7 additional emails to be sent to your list completely on autopilot. Can you see how powerful this can be?

Other than situations like ad-swaps or clicbanking, where you really NEED to be able to produce a certain amount of clicks, you should treat your small and growing list just as you would a bigger list. You cannot wait until it's "big enough" to start consistently mailing your list.

Provide them with useful content, provide them with relevant affiliate promotions, and stay in frequent contact. Be interesting, be entertaining, give your subscribers a reason to open your emails. People get countless emails every day. Your's is not the only list that your subscribers are on. You need to give them a reason to look forward to your emails. When you promote products, promote those which will actually benefit your subscribers. You want them thinking, "wow, Thenickberry was spot on with that recommendation! That product was great!" You DON'T want them thinking "wow, Thenickberry said this would be great, but it's actually total crap. What a scammer!"

If you're really struggling with what to mail your list, there are plenty of quality guides to email marketing basics (as well as some not-so-quality guides). Or, with a bit of searching and browsing, you can find endless free information right here on WF that can help get you started.
