Email Marketing Strategy?

Can anyone point me in the direction of a resource for this, or help me wrap my head around it?

Basically, what is an email marketing strategy? For example, say you have an info product and create a landing page. You get the opt-in, and now you're creating an autoresponder to send out to your subscribers.

What are the marketing tactics you use to convert them on the sale? I've read a little bit about Andre Chaperon's method, and understand the soap opera sequence, but what would be the content you put in the actual emails?

I've mostly just worked with sales letters, so I'm curious as to how I apply those same tactics to email marketing, or if you even can.

Everywhere I look, it seems like people just say to pass valuable content onto your subscribers and then eventually ask for the sale. But this seems too easy. There has to be a way you can psychologically drive your customers towards the sale in each email of the sequence.

    Writing emails asking for a sale pretty much the same as writing a sales letter.

    You want to find out what the biggest problem your subscribers face, what are they trying to solve and how can you help them.

    Then you can write emails to 'TEASE' them before directing them to your sales page.

    If you know what your customers' pains are, or biggest problems are then everything in your email is just about 'rubbing salt in the wound' and build desire for your solutions.

    It's the same as selling a car, a house, or any other product for that matter. You identify problems and you make subscribers aware of how your product can solve that problem.

    People like to overcomplicate the process and talk about all these different things - social proof, scarcity, psychological tricks etc. but really it all comes down to that. Yes, these things can help convince somebody who is on the fence, but if the person is completely confident your product will solve their problem then they will buy. If they are not, then they won't.

    I think too many people draw out the sales process for too long. Repeated exposure does help, but if you can't identify and solve the problem right away it doesn't matter how many times you're promtoed to. I've seen the same billboard in my town for the last 10 years, doesn't mean I'm ever going to buy their products.

    E-mail marketing sending bulk mails to your customers. Informing them on new products and also communicating with them, informing the sales too. but make sure you don't spam it. If you had installed a software which could send mail campaign, it would be easy for you to send bulk mails.Software helps you in e-mail marketing like sales force & Apptivo. I have also tried Zoho. But affordable software for small business is Apptivo( this could help). At the same time, you need to create letters with images, attractive with would also look great.

    Well like you said, the basic 'Sales Funnel' is the same:
    Traffic >> Optin Page >> Email >> Affiliate / own product.

    Some marketers use follow-up email series to sell i.e you write one time and schedule the email to be send to any new subscriber as you want.

    And some use Broadcast, i.e sending Live Emails.

    But Andre Chaperon's method is hybrid.

    He sets a Follow-Up series and sends Broadcasts to those you've reached the end of Follow-up.

    And as to what to send . . . well send stories.

    Write stories based on your Daily Life.

    Write your Success, write your failures, your adventures, your philosophy regarding money, time, relations, your childhood, etc.

    Just make sure that your story has a point. And then transition your Story to your product. .And then include a Call to Action.

    Dan Kennedy does this in his every newletter. That's why he has clientl that dates back 25 years!

    As for the Soap Opera sequences, you write stories that doesn't have an end.

    Include teaser to the End of the story, and then write the End in another story.

    This is called a Cliffhanger and creates a Open Loop in your prospect's mind and keeps them interested in every email you send.

    Unlike traditional forms of advertising, email marketing gives you the opportunity to repeatedly market to a prospect - potentially for the rest of their lives in some cases. All you had to do was give them a valuable free gift in exchange for their contact information.

    The best marketing practices for email marketing would be:
    1)Tell your potential clients your journey through a story.
    2)Offer them a solution to the problems that they are facing.
    3)Keep emphasizing the benefits of the product that you are providing.
    4)Have a good call to action to generate sales.

    If I could sum up the strategy I use for my clients in 2 words it would be value + tease.

    Every email should have value if you want the next ones in line to be opened.

    Depending on how aggressively you want to promote, some of or most of your email should also tease. Going from email to a random sales page is an interruption in one's day that needs sufficient justification (which teasing provides).

    Yes, I agree on your point "Easier said than done" when it comes to organizing a series of email marketing strategy to entice your audiences into purchasing your product. Not all audiences have the same needs, and others, though interested in what you have to offer (the reason why they opt-in to your list), don't really have the need to buy something from you.

    I think the key here is to offer them good value in your emails. I also agree with EmailCopyKing's response about writing your emails in a way that has a "storytelling content" to it, in order to keep your audiences interested.

    One of the many examples I have seen using this same email strategy is Mindvalley. I am currently hooked to their email series and I must say their emails are some of those which I open on a daily basis. Usually these emails have infographics, videos as well as offers on personal development and spirituality.
