Mailchimp NOT Affiliate-friendly

Hi guys,

Many people involved in Affiliate Marketing probably know that you ca not use or might get banned from Mailchimp if you promoted Affiliate products via their platform.

However, I don't know if this works or not, a fellow Webmaster told me that you can safely promote affiliate offers using MailChimp by not Direct linking!

I don't know about this, some feedback from WF members would be appreciated

Honestly, most don't really care unless you cause them issues.. IE above normal spam complaints.. etc.. Once you do that, than they'll pull rank and enforce their terms of service. Could be wrong, but I never heard of anyone getting shut down that didn't get high spam complaints.

I don't use mail chimp for that very reason, no sense risking my list. But, if you choose to use mailchimp then just link to a review on your site

I have affiliate links in almost all my emails and the only time I had trouble was when I sent an email entitled "what I did the weekend my wife was out of town" - which caused a security check. My account was frozen for two days while they looked into it - they read through all my emails and I presume checked all my links and came back and apologized for the inconvenience and unfroze my account.

I love MailChimp - but I wouldn't use it if you intend sending spammy stuff all the time. Quite rightly they try to protect their reputation by being hard on people who get a lot of spam complaints.

I don't consider mailchimp in the same category as the other big email senders. What turned me off of them was their unwillingness to turn off double opt in except through API access.

Mailchimp is fine unless you want to spam.
