I have been monetizing purchased email lists/data for over 16 years and PPL offers have been indispensable in converting data to a cash producing asset.

I favor offers that have some form of make, get or save money angle/benefit to them. Free sign-ups and free trials have worked well too. The real key though is the offer needs to have mass appeal, so that any given moment, a decent percentage of the users are likely to be interested.

Even offers that require a purchase can work, but mass appeal must exist as well and/or solves a House is on Fire type problem.

I'm not a fan of email submits.

I tend to promote PPL offers that pay $20-$60 each. There are verticals that pay much more and much less. However, price alone is not the only factor.

You can have a offer that pays $9 and if it gets double the conversion rate of an offer paying $20, then they will produce close to the same revenue. At the same time you could have an offer that pay $90 or even couple hundred dollars, but if the conversion rate is really low, then it may not even be worth sending.

So you really have to test.

But in general, I have found it EXTREMELY rare that a $1-$2 offer ever works well.

Really that i didnt know honestly, i always assumed $1-$2 offers would work well for exit traffic, but i'm a novice at best.

We are talking about mailing, not monetizing exit, thank you page traffic, etc...

I use them to monetize unsubscribes, where I rotate multiple gift card offers after someone unsubscribes to recoup data costs.

However, when mailing, email submits ($1-$2) just don't convert high enough to make decent money with anymore. The only time I ever run them, is if I'm being paid on CPM by a client (which I never recommend) but some will insist on wanting to test.

If you have an offer that pays $20. You need to get a 10X - 20X increase in conversion at $1-$2 to make the same revenue.
