Is this possible to do with your mailing list?

Hey quick question...

I have a mailing list, which I have setup to automatically send out an email every 5 days. This email list has many pre-written emails...about 25, then it repeats.

Anyway, I'd like to somehow incorporate something that notifies the people on my list about new blog posts that I made on my site. However, I'd like this to be done automatically, and basically just added to the bottom of my 25 pre-written emails.

So I have 25 pre-written emails, which are already done. Now I'm trying incorporate 'dynamic' blog post updates into each email.

Is this possible?

Thanks.

I really don't think that is possible. What you need to do is to have this people actually go to your blog and subscribe to receives updates.

There are some plugins that will do this or your subscribers can do it the old fashion way and subscribe to your rss feed.

Why not simply use broadcasts once you have a new post on your blog?

With Aweber you can segment the subscribers that have reached a certain email inside your followup list (this segment being dynamic) and set up the broadcast that they receive it after email 5 for example.

    Anyway, just an idea.

I think it's impossible to do.

Try different plugins where you can make your desired outcome possible.

There are a lot you can choose from.

Broadcasting whenever you write a new post is probably better. It would hardly take 10min for a mail...part of your marketing plan. Moreover, its more probable to make relations with your list this way as you can add few sentences / words creatively for the purpose.

I've used several of the major autoresponders. Mostly, I use aweber and have many active lists. And off the top of my head, I don't think it typically works this say. What I would do is search the knowledge base for ideas. Then email support with your question written out in as much detail as possible. Sometimes their support staff are not great with 'outside-the-box' type questions. So give them examples of what you want to do, and ask their opinion on suggestions.

If all that fails, then look for a plugin, as suggested above. Or, ask the autoresponder service if this is possible using their api. Then you might have an outsourcer on Upwork create this custom function for you using the api.

The only thing I can think of would be to add some kind of javascript insert or iframe to the messages, and have it pull the relevant information from your site, much like loading an image. Not sure if it would work with a third party service, or whether it would trigger anti-malware or AV programs.

Well the reason I want to do this is because I don't necessarily want to be selling them stuff in my emails. However, I do want to use the emails to keep notifying them of the great new content that's been recently added.

Basically the emails are going to have a "tip of the week" in them, and then underneath the "tip of the week", it will (ideally) say:

By the way, check out these 3 new articles that have been added!

The "3 new articles" are simply just a way to get them back to my site (which has stuff for sale), so it's like a very non-pushy soft sell in a way,

I add about 4 to 5 new articles per week, so I'd rather not do a blog broadcast for everyone.

Oh well. I can always give aweber a call or email.

    Thanks!

      Thanks!
You might want to do a weekly blog post digest and send this out every friday recapping all the posts you made that week.
