How to clean email lists?

Hello,

I Have some emails lists, and I've sending emails to them via Amazon SES, and they suspend my account because of the high bounce rate.

Is there a way to clean my lists before sending emails ?

Thank you

If you came by this email list ethically, then I would do the following:

Send the list to a squeeze page offering a freebie in exchange for their email address (base the freebie around your niche).

The opt-in rate might be small, but the list will be targeted and they will be real, active email addresses.

Then delete the old list and start with a clean, fresh engaged list.

    Hope this helps you!

You are simply going have to invest in an email list cleaning service. They are easy to find on Google.

Just do a search for "email list cleaning service".

    Hi

I am about to do something similar.

I have a pretty clean list but I am fairly new to this.

I'm guessing AWEBeR will ban me . Is there a better software I should be using for this.

Also should I be getting a different domain. Could I ruin my domain.

I'm hoping to get enough from the list to build my own opt in list.

    Thanks in advance

You could use a third party service such as BriteVerify.

Using the proper software that allows sending to cold, bulk emails is also important.

Autoresponders usually do the dirty job of taking care of cleaning email lists by removing soft and hard bounces and the like over time.

You don't need to pay anyone for them to clean your list in my humble opinion.

The only other major thing that has to be done is to remove unopens. I created a step-by-step tutorial here about how to do it: https://youtu.be/frED5X_M5xo

Only partly true ... if you blast an email campaign and get a high percentage of bounces then the autoresponder company will ban you.
Because this is what spammers do - they scrape emails, blast and move on. The IPs used for sending that blast will get blacklisted almost instantly too.

So any autoresponder company will a.) try to prevent this from happening - aweber will NOT import your contacts if they only suspect it could get high bounces
b.) ban you immediately if you get too high a bounce rate

After all, they worked for years to get their IP reputation up, and they will not allow you to ruin it

No,I dont think so,because once you have created your account you cannot delete it unnecssarily ,
Or last option is to use third party software to send emails .

Start with a clean list first. Services like impressionwise work fine. But if you are just bulk mailing some list you GOT somewhere....no matter what you do you will probably get dumped. BULK list have spam traps, bots OLD email list. Just garbage.

I've been buying data for over 16 years. Fresh data and using a reputable hygiene service to clean works well.

Older data presents more challenges. One of the things I ended up doing was creating a social segmenter. It checks addresses to see if associated with a social media account. Matches are likely to be a main account and checked often and highly unlikely to be a trap or bot.
