Small business- How to get customer to enter email?

Hi all,

I run a Smartphone distribution company and have local retail stores. I want to begin collecting email addresses and start some email marketing. I finally got around to securing an app that I have installed on several ipads that will be placed at the checkout desks in the stores. The customers can enter the information from the ipads and it will be added to my MailChimp list.

I was hoping to get some ideas on what I could offer them as an incentive for their email address. I've thought about the discount on your next purchase deal as well as giving them a free trinket such as a phone stand, car charger etc.

I figure there are people here smarter than I so I wanted to see if I could generate any other/better ideas?

We buy, sell, and repair smartphones. Our customers needs are pretty straight forward.

Ideas?

    Hi.

You could make it more fun and create a random draw for a cool prize. Make the prize a free voucher, a discount, or even better, a free iPhone! That last one would have people lining up to enter their email address.

You could even have the iPhone on display to make it more real and enticing.

Then, make it easy for them to enter their details into the opt-in form on the iPad. Don't get more information than you need (their name and their email address). People don't like filling in long forms, especially when out and about in shops.

The iPhone might seem like an expensive option, but you don't have to do this every time. The draw could take place in a month or two, so you will have plenty of time to get customers' details.

    I hope this helps!

After purchase just get the server to say....would you like us to email you some discount vouchers for free.

    Don't over think it.

Just get them to say that.

    It works

Make it simple. Just offer them coupons via email if they sign up.

People like immediate gratification. Offer them a discount on the "current" purchase they are making if they signup now.

How about having a store app made so customers can download the app for savings or whatever.

  • You need to offer amazing discounts, freebies through your landing pages also can offer coupon as pop up on your webpage. By creating a landing page you can capture leads by and sharing discounts, offers, videos. People get attracted to discounts and sometime they excited to grab the deal.

Please include these points step by step:

*Learn basics of email marketing on YouTube (there are lot of tutorial available on YouTube).
*Get a free starter account at MailChimp.
*Create a Series of an Autoresponder.
*Show your creativity to name an Eye catching subject line.
*Write very interesting and useful content.
*Be aware which type of audience you are engaging in content.
*Build traffic to the squeeze/landing page by Facebook FanPage, posting on forums etc.
*Don't forgot to give opt-out/unsubscribe option in the email.
*Give them sense of security to join your newsletters or register on your site etc.
