Free gift Ideas for repaint prospects?

I own a small painting business and am keen to give away a free gift on my website in return for their email address or estimate but struggling to come up with ideas that don't involve a lot of time my time and labour.

Any Ideas anyone? I've used my google powers for ideas with no results.

It's hard to find any painting companies that offer free gifts other than the standard "free estimate"

Thanks for your input

Is that painting and decorating or Michael Angelo type painting? I think if we know your market we might be able to brain storm some ideas

I run a residential painting company.

I listen to the "I Love Marketing" podcast and the presenter (Joe Polish) started offering a free room carpet clean for his customers before the brought from him.

I thought this would be a really good idea for my market but the only problem is I can't brainstorm any ideas that won't take too much of my time and effort.

For instance, If I go out offering one free room repaint it'll take atleast a day and a half to complete, probably around $150 worth of paint and materials and the risk of attracting freebie seekers would be expensive.

Maybe try putting an optin Form o the side and maybe write something like this.... "Join my Members VIP List where you will get Updates on Special Discounts offered only during selected seasonal periods
        throughout the Year "

or something like that. Maybe that is a little out of the box thinking and it may or may not work. But of course testing does not hurt

Here is a great idea...you only have to create it once and offer it if over and over.

A "how to" video or webinar.

"How to" videos or webinars are always popular -- particularly if you narrow your focus to the one part of a process that everyone is complaining about in forums and on social networks. For example, instead of posting a generic "How to prepare your walls for painting" video let potential mailing list members know they can download "The Top 3 Steps to Take Before Painting Your Walls" as your free gift -- one very tiny, but crucial and particularly frustrating step in making sure the paint job is done well without needing to come behind after and fix it up. (A single, specific micro-step mastered often means more to your subscriber than a massive eBook that does nothing but overwhelm with information.

I discovered it here for you...

The reason Joe Polish gave a free room is that once they see the contrast between that room and the rest of the house, and the guy is still there, ready to go and all that, they'll go with the whole house. And cleaning one room is not that expensive. Except in relation to the cost of cleaning carpet.

You're into a business that charges more... in my case, if I had carpeting not hardwood, I could get my whole house cleaned for under $1,000 but I'd have to shell at least $4,000 to get the whole house painted and, if I wanted a reputable company and all that, it would be more like $6,000.

So, proportionately speaking, you painting a room is the same as Joe cleaning the carpet in one room. You might want to limit yourself to kids room or dens (in my area, they are the smallest rooms in the house).

Other than that, you can offer to buy the 1st gallon of paint for them, or the 1st 3.

Or, you could hook up with some reputable store and arrange for a 5% off gift certificate... You sell the store the idea that they'll get a lot more people in from your site but they have to give a discount specific to people who come from your site.

Other than that: an amazing video on how to find the right painters... I've had my house/apartment painted several times: some of them, though not necessarily visible to me right away, stank to high heaven.

how about... pay materials only on your 1st room. 2 rooms minimum. 1st room no bigger than xxx.

So you limit the size of the 1st room. And then you get paid on the 2nd room plus extras. If the 1st room is bigger than the limit they get xxx amount off the total bill.

You need to work the numbers but if it looks like a great deal and you can get targeted faces in from of it you could do well.

As a professional in this field, you know which materials for home and renovation (probably also decoration) are worth recommending. Perhaps you could use it and "tell" your web visitors/audience that every time you come across something beneficial and worth sharing, you will do this (of course to let you do this, they will have to leave their email address).
People don't need a home renovation every day, but they are usually open to some small suggestions no matter if they use them immediately or just remember for the future. So, become their aid and idea provider (you don't have to reveal all your secrets ). Good luck!

You said you want to get their email address. What Joe Polish did to get their contact information was offer a consumer alert report. Maybe that's what you want to do.

The free offer then was the next step. And that was limited to the smallest room. Even so they did little things that would help trigger the sale. Plus it was mandatory they be permitted to do a carpet "audit" which was the device to induce the sale. These are all cogs in the wheel, just doing a free offer isn't sufficient.
