The facebook email era..

Hi Warriors.
I remember about 2 years ago facebook still had practically email account for each of their users. The email was like username@facebook.com and any sent mail there was coming into your messages at fb how cool ! But does anybody knows the exact reason they disabled this. I suspect massive spamming or maybe the opposite - no usage at all.
Did you sent messages to these emails?

    This was not an effective method back then, and it certainly would not be an effective method nowadays.

    wow, i did not know about it.
    perhaps because of absolute inactivity.
    Maybe people really did not know that this was possible

      Although I wonder why it wouldn't be effictive way as it would be the closest relationship with the customer ever by my opinion. Facebook is life for some people.
