I have always used MailChimp for newsletters, clients, subscription services and gathering a good mailing list of interested users in which could convert to sales if utilized right. I have however started to dab into other startups in which promise to give MailChimp a run for their money. Mailer Lite seems like a good alternative as I am loving the easy workflow and how fast it is to really dive in and start crunching numbers. Do you use any other services that can compete with MailChimp or do you just stick with the intdustry goto..

My favorite for a long time now has been self hosted. I use Sendy and Amazon SES. Has worked great.

Mailchimp is not a good option when your number of subscribers grows. You will have to pay much money.
I am agree with Rob. Sendy + Amazon work very good.

What if you're sending emails to a new list of 1M emails. Will mailchimp let you import that many?

List with 1M clean emails. Even if you are able to import those if the leads are not subscribed or there are a lot non existing ones (bounces) you'll loose the service very soon.

  • I would not use mailchimp at all simply because they do not allow sending out affiliate offers and once they find that your account will be banned faster than you think.

I would recommend using Aweber over others because at presently they have better inboxing than other 3rd party ARS

Can someone compare Aweber vs MailChimp for someone just starting their list?
Remember, ease of use is a huge factor.

On one of his webinars, Mike Dillard mentioned using Mailchimp as his go-to and he has over 400k subscribers. Any idea why he would still use it with that many opt ins?

With my experience over Mailchimp ( which is not that worthy now ), I had much satisfied experience with Mumara, its simplicity and functionality tops others.

i think mailchimp is one of the best site for email because it is give 12000 email free per month . so that is good option for all. Rob. Sendy is also a good email sender but i live mailchimp.

I use Getresponse, love the people and service there. I'm grandfathered in though, so their prices might be different by now. I pay $132 a year for up to 1,000 subs.

Great people and customer support there to.

Are they really much better than activecampaign or self hosted applications?

I've reviewed both for a project and ended up going with activecampaign and then mautic.org

I never reply on free stuff as it's free for upto 2k subscribers if I am not wrong. I been using Getresponse since like 2 years now and the options you get with it are really amazing. Although, I used to be a regular Mailchimp user but after the list started increasing I had no other option but to go for a paid plan on other provider.
