Since you're here, I guess you already know that email marketing should be an essential part of your business strategy. It's on par with social media, as an absolute must, to grow awareness for your business. More importantly, email marketing supersedes social media for lead conversion that directly leads to growth and revenue for your business.

So, if you're struggling to come up with the right tone and content for your emails, I've put together a pretty nifty set of templates for you. But first, some tips that will give you an idea of how the pros do it. Following these simple, but effective techniques result in lead conversion, as they appeal to that part of the human psychology that is involved in making a decision to buy. So if you pay attention to these, you're setting yourself up nicely for an increase in your click-through rate and conversions, even before you worry about the content of your emails!

1. Have your call to action prominent
Whether you run a blog, website or post content that you drive traffic to, it is imperative that you have a call to action that is prominent.

Without having a clear call to action, all that fantastic content you create is in danger of going to waste. If you draw people to your site, you definitely want to take them that step further. By having a clear call to action you make it easier for them to sign up and hand over their email address.

Once you have their details, the hard work is already done.

2. Make sure your call to action has strong language to entice in prospective leads
It is one thing to have a call to action prominent on your website or blog. But it is another to engage your prospective leads with a strong call to action.

Just having 'sign up' written is no longer enough. To stand out you have to engage your audience.

- Ask a question
- Provide a solution
- Use language that resonates with your audience
- Offer something for free

Getting customers to do what you want is a real challenge. An innovative call to action will help you draw in the right people in.

3. When you think you have sent them enough emails, send them more!

It is a common feeling to believe you are spamming your prospective customers with email. However, you have to be bold and brave and continuously send out emails.

Why? Because it means you stay relevant and present in your customer's mind. And when the need for your product/service arises, the trigger is already there.

Out of sight, out of mind is extremely pertinent to email marketing. View your stream of emails as a constant reminder to those who are in need of what you are offering.

4. Make your email personable
No one wants to read any email that looks like it was written by a robot. Your prospective customers are far too intelligent for that and rightly so. People want to engage with real content.

Make sure what you write is something that you would want to read.

5. Use email analytics to track what is working

Utilize your email analytics to track what your prospective customers are responding to. To get lead conversions you have to understand what works. There are several things you can tinker around with in your emails to find out what works:

- Play around with your subject line
- Use various templates until you find one that resonates
- Send emails at different times, especially between 8am -12pm
- Use small imaging that will not obliterate inboxes
