Using Email Marketing With eBay?

Hey Guys hope all is good...and can anyone feed my mind here please...

How can I successfully keep selling to customers on the back end through email marketing? NOT the process and how to set it all up technically I know how to do that...but how to send out the right messages as regards *physical products*?...For example with digital products (membership sites) etc you can set all kinds of sales funnels...

So just how versatile can it work with *physical products* post sale on eBay Amazon...should I just have one follow up email offering another closely related product OR should I just use broadcasts off spec with some kind of promos?

This has always been a weakness in my comprehension of using *email marketing* in conjunction with eBay Selling!

Can some of you please give me food for thought on how sales funnels can work post sale on eBay via email marketing? I realise there are different demographics involved depending on market and product...but I just want an handle on potential general methods on how this is done?

Hope this makes sense thanks guys...John.

    Hey John,

It's definitely a good idea to start building a list or multiple lists for the items you're selling.

Depending on what you're selling you could have a few lists on the go.

I mean, say for instance you sold a model airplane.

You could have a freebie guide for them to download...

    Top 10 Model Airplane Reviews.

You could have affiliate links pointing to different airplanes and further down the funnel introduce them to drones as a higher ticket item via an affiliate link.

You could also cross promote model boats, trains, rc car's etc.

You could use your lists to drive traffic to new listings, you could also run competitions and give everyone who purchases a new item entry to a draw to win something related.

However if I was you I l'd start setting up small niche sites and get people to purchase from your own website.

Especially if you're on eBay you'll be able to offer bigger discounts by saving on eBay fees.

All you'd need to do is put a squeezepage style postcard or leaflet inside the package you mail out pointing to an opt in page.

Hope this gives you a few ideas.

You can't if you haven't set up an auto responder and list targeted to those customers! What I mean't by "past customers" are the ones who had already signed up from their first purchase...my query is how to succesfully continue to market to them there after via email marketing.

    I pay for 2 auto-responder services.

Biggest site has list 100,000 emails best $1000 spent buying that site.

100,000 about high end list want. Once get much past it too much server strain email people. I know few own million plus member list they never use them due to that.

When income down I use all my list email people.

Key finding good auto-responder which allows unlimited use for $15-20 a month range both ones I use allow that. One more user friendly other has better affiliate program.

Nurture them . . . feed them great content in the niche. It can be done in any number of ways - weekly emails, tips, newsletter, membership site, Facebook or Yahoo groups, etc.

Even though they may have purchased a physical good, you can still develop a relationship with them by giving them help, guidance, tools, answers to questions, and other advice over time.

It's best if you begin this process soon after your initial contact. If you wait for months or years, they are going to forget about their purchase from you.

As someone who is both an Internet marketer and a frequent eBay buyer, I'll be blunt - I hate it when someone I've purchased from starts sending me mail promoting anything, and that includes new things they've listed for sale on eBay.

I may have bought something from them, but I didn't opt in to become a subscriber. As far as I'm concerned, our relationship is over the minute I receive the merchandise and any subsequent sales offers I receive qualifies as spam.

If you're going to do email marketing with eBay customers, be sure to get them to opt in to exactly that.

    Charlie,

You are right, unless you opt-in, the seller shouldn't keep emailing you.

When I send the item to my eBay buyer, I include in the package a brief 1-page note asking if they would be interested in joining my business list. Then I tell them what it's all about, list the benefits for them, and give them a 50% off coupon for one of my products. Then I guide them to my opt-in page. If they want further contact with me, they know where to go to get it.
