How to Grow Your Email List?

This is an important aspect of email marketing. Once you have realized how beneficial email marketing can be to your business and how it can effectively target potential customers, the next step is to build an email list. Experts predict that email marketing is on the rise again and people are becoming increasingly inclined towards this mode of marketing. It is deemed as a more personal way of interacting with customers and is almost guaranteed to incite a positive response.

Now, in order to effectively capitalize on this marketing strategy, one has to boast an expansive email list. The problem here is that email lists do not grow that quickly. In fact, quite the contrary; analysts have deduced that almost all email lists are likely to decrease by 20 percent at the end of each year. There can be many different reasons for this. Most people frequently switch emails, move to other providers or fail to notify changes, it could be anything.
From a marketing perspective, this is not so good. In order to reach out to as many people as possible, one has to make sure that they are increasing their contacts every day. This can prove to be difficult at times since many people will not easily be attracted to what you are offering. Hence, the trick is to appear engaging, appealing and present reinvigorating content.

There are a number of ways through which people can grow their email lists. Some of these are:

-Prominent sign up forms
Many marketers favor social media forums instead of sign up forms. While social networks like Twitter and Facebook are indeed very effective when it comes to marketing, they also have a downside. Since, they are third party entities, these networks control all the content that people will be able to see. Other than that, there are so many ads bombarded at the users through these, that your particular ad is most likely to get lost in the middle.
Hence, the need for sign up forms is evident. You must have a clear and prominent sign up form on your web page that encourages people to subscribe. This way, your email list will increase and you will be able to compel visitors to hit the page again.

-Offer a lot of benefits to visitors for signing up
The information should be crystal clear and engaging enough to convince the potential customer to leave their email account details. You are most likely to see this happen if you offer them extensive benefits of signing up.

-Good content
If the content on your webpage is engaging and unique, you will be able to attract more consumers and ensure their subscription. Content is the key to your success. It will not only help you retain subscriptions but also lead to an increased turnover.

-Design an opt-in marketing campaign
This is particularly useful for those who have a stagnant email list. All you need to do is create a simple and short opt-in message and send it all the people on your list. Encourage them to renew their interest and ask them to opt-in again.

-Employ social media accounts
You can get people to sign in through Facebook or Twitter, particularly for something that requires them to submit their emails. By doing so, you will not only witness an increase in your list but also have the chance to reach out to potential customers through social media.

-Set up promotions on other webpages
You can ask a partner website to promote your service and encourage their customers to sign up as well. This way, you will not only target a newer audience but also generate traffic from different sources.

-Try a more traditional approach
Publish a newsletter or set up a personal interaction page where you can engage with customers on a one to one basis. This can actually prove to be quite beneficial when it comes to increasing contacts. The newsletter can help expand your niche customer base, while personal interactivity will encourage others to look your service up and even sign up for it later.

These were some of the ways to effectively grow an email list. Email marketing may sound outdated to some, but it can actually do wonders as far as targeted advertising goes. If you are one of those coming back to email marketing, then these ways of growing an email list will be quite useful.

Email lists need to be constantly updated, which is why, one has to ensure that they have working and active email addresses. Hence, keep tabs on the email accounts that are dead and remove them from the list. Circulate regular emails to get an idea of those who do not responding any more. This will help you organize your list better. Other than this, you must also keep on adding new contacts to your list at all times. Since, email lists care constantly being downsized; one has to make sure that the contacts removed are immediately replaced.

This is mainly due to the fact that email lists have to boast a considerable number of contacts. If the list keeps on decreasing without the possibility of having newer contacts added, there will eventually come a time when only a few names will be left. Ultimately, it will not help you get anywhere. In order to prevent this from happening, you have to ensure that the email list has a set number of active contacts. Whenever you realize that the list is decreasing below your set number, you must immediately take steps to bring it back up again. Some of the ways mentioned above will help you maintain a steady number of contacts in the list.
Try creating more focused marketing strategies revolving around email marketing and soon enough, you will experience a rise in revenue and sales. Once you can successfully tap into your niche customer base via email, you can not only expand your business but also create a brand over time.

Completely agree with the points you make in your "prominent sign up forms" paragraph.

Email is much more personal and effective at making sales than social media will ever be. So it's vital to capture people's email addresses when they visit your website. I have two optin forms on my home page and at least one on every other page of my site.

Email marketing sure is the best and you could also use paid traffic
sources in order to speed up the process such as: FB ads, Bing ads,
solo ads, media buying etc etc.
Paid marketing is more secure, targeted and effective. Period
