Email Marketing Report

This is a simple little report I made to help out the new email marketers out there just getting started. Just some basic facts and stuff to consider!

Role of Email Marketing: To assist your customer from one stage of the customer journey to the next.

3 Types of Emails:

1. Transactional: Order confirmations, Purchase Receipts, etc.
2. Relational: Blogs, Articles, etc.
3. Promotional: Sales, New Product releases, Affiliate products, etc.

Important Facts To Consider:

• Around 30-50% of people on your list could be Un-engaged!
If that's the case, you should set up a re-engagement campaign
To avoid this from happening it is a good rule of thumb to be sure to send emails to your list, 1-3 times a week.

• Within a year's time, 30% of people change their email addresses.
If you find this happening to people on your list that are un-engaged, make sure to asked them to update their email with you.

• It is a known fact in email marketing that your prospect usually takes up to 7-10 emails before they first buy from you.

Hope this helps...

How can I ask them to update their email if I do not have their new email address to send this request?

      It's pretty simple...

Just because they have a new email doesn't mean they don't still check their old one.

Remind them why they signed up to your list in the first place and ask them to update their email address.

If they don't they were never gonna buy from you any way.

A lot of time when people change their email address, they set up an auto-responder that tells you what the new email address is. You can probably write some software to scan for this and update the email address automatically, or do it manually.

I don't totally agree with that method topcoder!

        Here's why...

If they don't want you to have their new email address and you just add them to your list, they may report you as sending spam.

That's why it's important to get them to re opt in with their new address.

If you offer them a bonus item or piece of content that they could use, that would be a good reason for them to re opt in.

If they don't! No big deal, one subscriber won't break the bank!

      Look! Here's the deal...

If you got that list from somebody, it won't do you any good.

First of all... they don't know who you are!

So if you start mailing them, they might just report you as a spammer!

You need to build your own list...

      It's not hard to do.

The fastest way I've found to build a list is to do solo ads.

Just search the forum here, and you will find tons of post that tell you where to go and how to do solo ads!

I fear that Sending too many emails per week might annoy the subscriber and they will unsubscribe. Is it really worth it to lose potential customers just to keep them engaged?

This is a common thing I see a lot of new email marketers say...

You should NOT be afraid to mail your subscribers.

      HERE'S WHY...

They got on your list for a reason right?

And when they first sign up for your list, you should indoctrinate them well, by telling them what to expect.

You should tell them how many times a week to expect mail from you.

You should tell them you will be sending them your product offers, affiliate offers, and also valuable content that they can use to help their business!

After you indoctrinate them, if they un-sub scribe after a few mailings, they're not worth keeping anyway.

So, you should never be afraid to mail your list...

A good rule to go by is mail between 3-5 times a week, but make sure to at least send them value once a week with something that helps them in their business.

This could be a free case study, ebook, blog post or a piece of software. It's up to you what you want to send.

In this sense, you are training your list that they are to expect offers from you, as well as good free content to keep them happy.

Just make sure there is a balance.
