Is it safe to promote Clickbank products through email?

12 replies
Hi,

I see my competitors doing it, and not go to spam or promotions.

How could this be?

Also - should I use url shorteners?

Thanks for the help

    Personally I would use a meta refresh (redirect) on your own site. That way your domain appears in the emails and not clickbank or a url shortner.

        A meta refresh redirects the traffic coming to the page it is on. Here is an example html page that has the meta refresh.

        <html>
        <head>
        <title>Page Title</title>
        <META http-equiv="refresh" content="2;URL=http://urlofdestinationpage.com/">
        </head>
        <body>
        </body>
        </html>

        The 2 in the refresh line tells the refresh not to happen until 2 seconds later. You can use what ever delay works best for your particular circumstance.

          Thanks Rob,

          I have a word press site with Blue-host.
          How do I do that exactly that it will not happen until 2 seconds later? Do I need a plugin for that?

          Thanks

            Get full hosting that allows you to create static HTML pages. Wordpress hosting limits what you can do. Get a cpanel account and install Wordpress on it. Then create a folder for all your redirects and code those HTML pages manually.

              Hi Rob,

              I have bluehost,
              I went to domains, then redirct, and I redirected it, but it didn't give me an option to edit the html manually. Is that ok too? It opens in less than 2 seconds.

              Thank you

                Sounds like you are redirecting the entire domain. That works but I was talking about redirecting a single page on a domain.

                To do that you need to create a page with the redirect code and upload it to your server.

    Yeah try to stay away from using your affiliate link directly (from any network actually) in your autoresponder.

    Even with URL shortners, spam engines will detect the where they link to. Follow Rob's advice, meta refresh is probably the best way to go.

    Also Test the email you are sending with an inbox placement tester - to make sure it will be accepted at most places.

    You'd probably be fine, but just to be safe I'd use an affiliate link masking plugin on your site so the link you send out via email is linking to your site which then redirects to the clickbank product.

    I think the legit way is to do it via solo ads & legit list building, in short: email marketing. Not email spamming using email gatherer tool.
