Jvzoo.com links are blacklisted in Aweber

I was testing out Aweber and found an issue with using JVZOO links.

They are blacklisted and give your emails a spam rating of 9.0+

I contacted JVZOO and their tech support didn't seem to be too bothered by the fact or think it consequential.

jvz2.com Domain Health

Aweber won't use them because using a blacklisted link will affect their overall deliverability.

I'm not sure how recent, but if I put the same link into my Get Response account it doesn't flag it.

So apparently Aweber is more picky as far as links they allow. Since JVZ is no small player out there and Aweber is the "top" autoresponder provider, I thought they would be more concerned. So far it doesn't seem so.

Well that sucks for people who are just going to copy and paste their JVZoo affiliate link and use it in an email.

Folks like us on the other hand know better.

We know to use services like ClickMagick, ClickPerfect or Link Supercharger to cloak our affiliate links before sending them anywhere.

    Right?

I was told that redirects or masking the link will not make any difference, it will always use the ultimate link destination for the result.

I personally have never had a problem with using ClickMagick, but thats probably because I'm using my own domain for it and not the standard domain that they give you.

        It works for me though.

Well I also face this type of problems with aweber. I heard of getresponse 360. I will have a test with them.

Using a click tracker or redirect script will not solve the problem if they are looking at the destination URL. Here is what I do and it works great.

I start the message in the email. Just enough to get them to want to read the entire message. I have a continue reading link that takes them to a web page on my site with the entire message.

This web page contains the affiliate links. Not the email.

Use clickmagick to cloak your affiliate links. That being said, I have not come across any such problem in Aweber. Was it a regular JVzoo link?

Aweber flagged it because its blacklisted: Network Tools: DNS,IP,Email
Spamhaus ZEN will cause ISP (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, AOL...etc) to block or reject the message, and it will effect Aweber IPs. so they block that URL.

But you should use link cloaking to avoid all this.

never use aff link directly in any autoresponder... u should cloak them! if you dont have a tracking system... try to use a simple html file redirect...

On WordPress, I highly recommend WP Dynamic Links (free WP plugin)

PS - I got around Facebook's banning of the links by sharing on Googe Plus and then clicking on that link's date to get the absolute link for the post. That can be shared anywhere and retains the affiliate code.

That isn't working for me. Is it still working for you?

    Spam score = ZERO

    Thanks everyone.

The method that Rob mentioned is spot on.

When you take them to content on your site, you increase trust and are showing your subscribers you are all about giving value - not just make a quick buck with little effort.

Spam complaints will be decreased with this method, as opposed to just putting the link in the email.

I also use ClickMagick with a custom Domain, and never had any problem. I wouldn't dream of putting any affiliate links directly in emails anyway.

    Hi.
I had the same issue and contacted the support.
    Here is what they answered:

    Hello Damien,

Thank you for contacting AWeber support, I would be happy to assist you with this!

I am sorry for the confusion, but those hoplinks from Clickbank will occasionally get blacklisted. That being said, it is usually a temporary block, and will be resolved in 24 to 48 hours.

At AWeber we use a service called Spam Assassin to provide our customers with some insight into the potential for message filtering due to spam content. You will see this rating next to each message you create, we call it a Spam Score. Typically anything less than 5 is perfectly fine to send, but if you'd like to see the breakdown of why your message may have a higher score, you can click on the score itself. For a quick tutorial, please take a look.

    https://help.aweber.com/hc/en-us/articles/206235227-How-Do-I-See-The-Spam-Score-Breakdown-Of-My-Message-

And if you're seeing that score move up above 5, you would want to look into ways to bring that down. Anything higher than 5 will more than likely be filtered away from your subscriber's immediate mailbox. For some general information, please reference the Knowledge Base article below.

    https://help.aweber.com/hc/en-us/articles/204032406-How-Can-I-Lower-My-SpamAssassin-Score-

Due to these hoplinks being used by many Clickbank users across the world, unfortunately it becomes a shared community. If too many users abuse the hoplinks and they get marked as spam by their subscribers, it then impacts anybody else (like yourself) trying to use the hoplinks for themselves.

I would give this some time, or try updating the link to go somewhere else (like your own website if you have one) and just have the hoplinks available on the website.

If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to respond with more detail and let me know. Thanks!

    Regards,

    Well,
As for me, I have promoted a CB product to my list in Aweber a month ago.
And I noticed that if you put a naked link, it'll show spam score. But when it is cloaked, spam score=0.
But like Rob said it won't convert unless you direct your subscribers to your own page to provide them sth worthwhile, not just bombarding them with "buy, buy, buy..." stuff.
