The art of Actionable Emails!

We've all probably heard it....

... but including some words in your headlines will make readers DO something more...

... than others.

http://www.business2community.com/em...-ever-01656377

goes over this with suggestions like:
  • Only [how many you have left] available
  • Today only
  • Limited-time
  • Limited quantities available
  • Today only
  • Sale ends at [time]

and

https://blog.bufferapp.com/words-and...-ultimate-list

adds even more!

If you make your living via email marketing....

... internalizing something like that above.... can only help increase your profits.

Enjoy!

Unfortunately, those words are used so often, IMO, they are losing their effectiveness. They are commonplace and not special anymore. So many IMers say "today only" or "sale ends . . ." and don't keep their word that I am always skeptical when I see this kind of thing.

If you're not going to follow through, don't lie about it.

    Hello there,

Steve is right. Maybe you could tweak these statements wisely, that it indirectly states to the prospective client what he's gonna lose when he doesn't avail of the product for a limited time. Through that, you can create more value to your product.

    Best of luck!

You want to trigger some curiosity with your headlines..

An effective way to do that is to inject something negative in there... a few years back a marketer reported he achieved the highest open rate, in their experience, with a subject that just said 'bad news'.

    YMMV

I think the reason behind those call to action words don't work anymore is because of its predictability. Remember that people are tired of fake promises of freebies with lots of detours. Your email should solve a need and deliver, simple as that.

I completely disagree with ALL these so called actionable emails:

Only [how many you have left] available
    Today only
    Limited-time
    Limited quantities available
    Today only
    Sale ends at [time]

These will get you ignored or flagged for spam fast.

They ALL spell... I'm selling you something and you NEVER want
to start off an email with that.

I'll explain more if you like...

    But that's it for now.

My favorite thing is when infomercials air on TV and they say the offer is only good for X more minutes etc even though it is a total crock since half the time they don't even know themselves when the ad is actually going to air.

  • These words are now known for a long time.
It may still work for buyers that had good past experiences with marketers who sold them with such words.
I believe that mixing them with some uniqueness will do the desired effect.
    Regards.

Personally, I feel that the best call to action emails are those that involve the mastery of a buyer's journey. If they are part of your target population already, then an enticing sales lead will be great. If you are still in the introduction phase, then a free trial or offer will work best.

I think domain finder makes a lot of sense. You see, there is a lot of thought process needed to be considered on this, your CTA emails should be targeted and if you are to add that sense of urgency like "Available now for 50%, limited time offer!". Then make it indeed a limited time offer.
