Email marketing, whats the best day?

Been collecting emails for years, Going to start using them.

I'm going to do a test run with about 27k emails next week and I was wondering which is the best day to launch them?

I figure Monday and Friday would be bad because no one wants to do business on those days.

Any observations that an email marketer would have would be appreciated.
Thank You

Monday is actually one of the better days.

Weekdays are the best days and early in the morning is when I send mine. People get more work done in the morning and look at emails. You don't want people reading your emails while they are lounging around relaxing after work. Especially if you're trying to sell something.

"Going to start using them" ...Are you implying that you haven't seen them a single email in years? If so, your engagement will most likely be extremely low. Offer a free gift and value to build a relationship with them first before promoting.

    Vendzilla,

Best day to send email is on weekdays. Avoiding saturday and sunday. And in the morning is best, most people often check their email in the morning. However, you should test your list to know which is your best and optimize it.

Email marketing is the most effective way to build relationships with your prospects, leads and customers. But delivering the Right Content to the Right Audience at Right Time is equally important to get the best results. Right content and right audience are known after you make a buyer persona. But how do you know the best time to send out email campaigns?

Initially marketers used a trial and error method to know the best times. But they consume lot of time and drain most of our efforts. For this reason email marketing services have surveyed all the emails and found out the best times to campaign your emails.

According to major e-marketing services like mailchimp and vertical response, Tuesday is the hands down best day to send an email followed by Wednesday and Thursday. And the best times are spread throughout the day like in the morning 7-9 am is the ideal time to email burst. In the afternoon news articles have great attention hence posts related to latest news are advised to be sent between 11-1 pm during noon. Since most people have a tendency to reply or check their emails before bed, 9-10 pm are also good hours to send emails.

Hope this helps you gain better results.

I find it curious that you've been "collecting" emails for years and haven't done anything yet.

    Blanket Marketing 101:

    It depends on the market.

Why does nobody realize there is no one answer to anything when there are many different markets involved.

    Avoiding saturday and sunday.
Unless these are the days your subscribers are most likely to read your email and buy your products.

The best day is the day that is revealed to you through your research, which means you have to test, test, and keep testing.
If not for the self-promotional link, I would have thanked this statement.

Morning or evening, before or after the working day. I usually send mine out Mondays and Thursdays for bi-weekly emails.

I would definately email your list and test it. The below steps have worked well for me in determining the effectiveness of the subject lines as well as well as the best time to send. Let me preface it by saying that ALL email lists are different. Your subscribers may react totally different to other lists, depending on their interests and demographic.

Below is a method of testing that has worked well for me.

    1. Compose three versions of your email with a unique subject line and same body copy

    2. Send the first version out to your list/lists at about 6am CST.

    3. Send your next version out to everyone who did NOT open the first one at 12pm CST

    4. Send the third version of your email out to everyone who did not open the first two.

    5. Measure your open (and click-thru) rates the next evening in order to give everyone time to check their emails as some respond quickly where others might take a day.

The end result should be a winning version of the email to determine it's best subject line and time. Now rinse and repeat the process with different mailings to your list/lists for other days of the week to get a good baseline.

    Thanks

You only will know it after some time.

If you never use that list, you never nurture those leads, we cannot say it. It's not good collectin email without nurture them.

So give value and cut leads which are not opening your mail after one month or two.

it depends", but it's fun to speculate. The answer especially depends on whether you are marketing to a consumer or business audience. Here is some of the suggestion
Tuesday may get the best response - this is what I've often seen in B2B marketing, it perhaps reflects Monday/Friday being meeting days. Tuesday is usually peak day for web traffic too.
Fewer emails are sent on Friday and the weekend, so there is less competition in the inbox then potentially, so more chance for the email to be seen. But this is offset by lower open rates suggesting that people are perhaps less engaged at the weekend.
Sending emails on Friday could be good since there is relatively little competition and you can pick up at home use. This is when we send our weekly roundup emails - it fits what we want to offer too.

What industry / niche are you sending this to?

I would agree if it is a corporate or 9 to 5 group of people, then I would avoid Monday's before say 1pm and I would basically not send anything on Friday at all.

That said, there is plenty of research to show that Monday's and Friday's could be suitable based on your industry. If you are targeting the hospitality industry for example, they usually work evenings and also have Monday's off so your days would be different.

I would research your target market and get a better idea from the trends behind any open rates from the first run and you will get some pretty good reporting that way.

Email marketing is one of the most important strategies to increase the business sales. It is used to convince the customers to buy the company products and it is also used to inform the previous clients about the new products.

The best day to send the email to the customers are weekends, because people stay busy from Monday to Friday. If you will choose the working days, then individuals will not check your email and they might also forget to read the email later.

If you're trying to send something.

Send your emails early in the morning 4am to start it doesn't matter what day it usually is but what time you're going to send it.

and it all depends on what you're trying to send from Selling them items, Membership sites and etc.

On weekdays try emailing between 8am to 12 pm. Your interested demographic might be preparing themselves to start their day and usually people check out their facebook posts and emails during this time to keep themselves updated.

You can also try out weekends after 12pm .

    Cheers

I have some data that is being sent 24/7 non stop 365 days per year.

Monday - Thursday tends to produce the highest clicks / conversions.

8am-2pm EST and 7pm-11pm EST is when the bulk comes in.

Friday is usually the worst day, the weekends can be OK.

Mondays I will "usually" get a pop from those that didn't see the mail Fri-Sun and see it on Monday.

To my observation, the best days to send emails so that you get some business are the weekdays i.e. Monday to Thursday (or Friday too). And people usually spend time reading all kind of emails in the morning (I also do the same). So, I would suggest you to send emails on weekdays in the morning time (say around 9 am from Monday to Friday).

Email them when they OPEN the mails!

I mean email them when they usually open your last mail: SendLane maybe has this feature, to send the message at the right time when the user most often open a mail.

Sending an email ad on a Monday and Wednesday is good. The start of the week is when people check their emails after the weekend. Wednesday is also good because people will finish task on what they see on Monday. The rest of the days after Wednesday makes workers lazy.
