My open rates are not growing for eMarketing campaigns, what should I try?

I have a few ongoing campaigns that go out monthly, they work fine but in the last few months open rates and engagement are pretty much the same.

One is for education and one is for the finance industry.

Anyone got any red hot tips for putting a rocket up them a little?

Send me your ideas please.

You don't give us a lot of information to work off of.

So my only advice to you is read up on all the advice about email from sites like copyblogger, kissmetrics, leadpages, etc.

Maybe your emails are too similar, so you need to spice it up adding interesting headlines, interesting body text etc

Low open rates = you are not grabbing attention.
High open rates but low conversion rate = You are not grabbing interest.

As your problem lies in low open rates - the most obvious mistake could be in your subject lines. Are they making your prospect pause for a moment? Are they enticing curiosity? Are they sticky?

Work on your subject lines, my friend. In good old days, direct repsonse marketers would go even far as attaching a baggie of dirt on the letter (just to grab attention).

What are you doing to grab your subcriber's attention?

    Thanks

I probably could be more exciting with the subject lines, they are probably a little main stream and aren't too exciting.

I will go back to the drawing board, maybe I need to shake up the format too.

    Hi:

If you are not getting people to open your emails then a couple of things may be happening.

    1. You should test future emails before sending them out to make sure they aren't going straight to spam. When found in the email subject Line, there are literally hundreds of words that can get your email sent straight to spam on Gmail and other email providers. So send yourself a test email to make sure it's getting to subscribers main email instead of their spam email.

    2. You need to make the subject line as catch, and curious as possible to entice people to open it. This applies all the time, but especially when you are emailing someone for the first time.

    Good Luck,

Switching sounds like a good plan.
Lucky me i don't have this problem. My template is Mailchimp and CM ready, so i don't have to switch because the drag&drop works for both.
Try registering for a free trial and see how that goes.If your emails are getting more interest then switching is definitely the best idea.

        Good Luck

The main thing you have to focus on to get more open rates and click through rates you should make the content updated and try to give them some value rather than barely posting affiliate links. Important thing is your SUBJECT line should be so catchy that people emotionally cannot leave the email unopened. hope it helped

You should to try non-standard e-mail subjects.

If you use subjects that are common on the market, it will go unnoticed and your list will not open your email because they think that is more of the same.

Well you should be split testing constantly, and odds are you could be mailing more frequently than once a month to maximize profits without any negative consequences whatsoever

As others have said - be sure your subject lines disrupt their attention from everything else they are doing or are about to do. Critical!

But from there, you haven't said if these emails are going to the same people each month?

Are the emails changing? Are you contacting them enough to really build the offer as that of a leader in the industry?

If you only contact them once a month, how do they really know who they are about to "buy" from? They need to know, like and trust you, to buy from you.

I could go on, but I don't have enough info to be specific.

I hope that helps a little.

I would also, do a survey too. This way, your email subscribers. Can tell you, what they want more of. Also, look at your past emails and see, were they were more engaging too. Do include, to check. On your competition, to see what they are doing to get your attention.

I've always managed to push up my open rates using more creative titles and changing the "from" field a little and making things more personal.

With the limited information you've provided, I'd like to help you with a couple of tips that could improve your stagnant rates.
    • Always have different content, intent, and representation options ready for a single topic.
    • Work on the subject lines and make sure they're not using the same flow as earlier ones. This means not only shuffling the words around but changing the subject line as well. You need to produce different content with your subject lines each month.

    Hope this helps!

Since it is the holidays – have you ever run a time sensitive campaign?
“Sign up before X DATE and receive X PRODUCT”.
That would create a sense of urgency with your readers and could boost engagement.

The first thing I would ask is how many lists are you a subscriber of? Then I would ask have you studied the ones you either a. purchased from and b. if you haven't purchased from them but the copy is good study those. See what the anatomy of their email is. Develop your own flavor from what you would have bought from or have bought from. Also story telling is quite effective.

Use better subject lines That make people open the email The email is to get people to open the link to the website. People forget that. Example The Answer To Making $400 with Proof Online IS In Your Pocket or Handbag. I use this on my squeeze page with a free course on just how I made the $400 then put them to a page to get a even better course and at a higher price.
Inside the email I put that 3 years ago I had a big problem. But the answer was in my pocket all the time. I also guarantee that you have the answer in your pocket or in your handbag. Watch how I made a easy $400 and have been doing it now for 3 years then the link. It works Robert

Your open rates are not growing for e-Marketing means that there is something wrong in the campaign which is not stopping the audience. Audiences convert into potential traffic when you serve something interesting to them. What you need to do is to check your format and text and analyze whether they are interesting enough to make your audiences pause for a moment? Make your subject line and text more engaging, attractive and eye-catchy. Make the things in the format more personal, and keep changing the headings and text time to time.

Your open rates are directly effected by your ability to grab their attention. Your email subject line needs to be like a killer headline from a marketing page. Otherwise we get lost in the thousands of emails they are sifting through. Think of which emails you open and which ones you ignore. Do a swipe file (make a list of ones you open) and then ask yourself why you opened that one compared to the others. Eventually you will learn to grab the attention. The other possibility is that they read your previous emails and did not see it as relevant. You always need good quality and if it is a series, get them excited about the next email with a teaser whenever possible. "Hey look for my email tomorrow where I show you how to lose 10 pounds without eating less" or whatever... A hook for the next email will increase your open rate or at least keep it from dropping off...

All the emails you're sending out is not important to them anymore and you are no different than others. It's time to give them a boost. What is the thing they value while they sign-up? Come on man, you know what they want. Good luck!

Make the email much more mobile optimized since most of us tend to open emails through mobiles. Use beautiful email templates. Don't overload the subscriber's inbox with emails. Maintain a limited frequency. Add personalisation by mentioning their name. Various other tips can be followed to increase the open rate of an email. Refer this for further fantastic tips! Cheers!

The first thing that came to my mind and I think no ones has mentioned is the fact that you are sending out MONTHLY emails. I know, it depends highly on the niche and the emails you are sending out, but I would try to aim to at least make a weekly newsletter out of it.

People have SO much on their mind. And if you are not someone who has grabbed their attention from day 1 and people are eagerly waiting for your newsletter, they will forget about you. You need to stay in their head... that's why I would suggest trying to email them more frequently. Otherwise you are leaving money on the table.

+ You need to write great email copy. Subject line comes first though. They need to WANT to open your email, and your email copy should do all the rest.

    All the best,
    Robert
