Ways to make your newsletter more engaging.

The traditional newsletter, whether emailed or sent through the mail is one of the best ways to stay in touch with your customers and let them know what's been going on with your business.
It doesn't take a genius to work out that that's not where their real value lies and the much more useful purpose is to encourage engagement with you and your brand.

But the question is HOW?
When you're tempted to talk AT people and tell them about the latest events and things that have been going on with your company how, and let's use eNews in this instance, do you use this as an opportunity to boost engagement?

These are a couple of things that have previously been recommended to me, so I thought I'd pass them on and see if anyone has anything else to add which might be of use.

Point articles to your website:
Your CTA is all through your website (well it should be) Point all articles to the very pages where people will be met with ample opportunity to buy now, sign-up, or contact for more information
This will also help your SEO which is one of the biggest goals of everything we do.

Re-hash your blogs.
Similar to the above, if you've previously published blogs on your website or Facebook page, you can do a blog round-up in each newsletter that you produce. This will again increase traffic to your website and will improve your ranking as people spend longer on your site.

Provide valuable information.
How-to articles are the most read articles online. People go straight to the internet when they want to learn how to do something so if you can provide that information in your newsletter you're guaranteed to keep yourself at the forefront of peoples minds so they contact you first as the need for your service arises.

Be personal.
The newsletter is a great way to reinforce your brand strategy and bring some personality into your communication. You can make jokes, talk about something in the news that has touched you, or bring up future engagements that your reader might find interesting. A quick round-up in an introductory paragraph is a great way for your database to get to know you as a person rather than as a business.

    Offer help.

Send a message saying "Got a question?" or "What can I help you with?" and offer to answer any question regarding your area of expertise.

    People will never forget that.

I sometimes get questions without even asking in certain niches so you can imagine that people will really take you up on this.

Who wouldn't want free help from an expert?
