The problem with GMAIL

After sending email blast/ newsletter for years, I have a new problem.

Some people would check the big "mark as spam" box that Gmail and other web based email clients put front and center, and then my emails to that person would go to spam. I'm fine with that, no problem.

The problem now is that Gmail has decided to put my emails into the spam folders, of not just those few, but everyone who has a Gmail account, even friends, family, old clients etc.

Does anyone know what going on with this? I'm not a pro spammer, just artist who send out occasional newsletter. Thanks.

Thanks Regional, they have a forum, but it' s not monitored by anyone too insightful, so that why I'm posting here.

Actually, I'm not using their service, I don't use gmail. The issue is my regular emails going into spam folders of people who use gmail.

      Thanks Acmcall,
The issue is that my emails go to the spam folder of gmail users who are friends, family, and past clients.

The question is is there anyway to contact Google about this? or is it hopeless.

Yeah, that is pretty much hopeless. You need to really concentrate on your subject line, From: email address, the service you are using and a host of other things. The reason they are going to the spam folder is something is triggering in the google spam filters.

Are they going to spam or to promotions?

I get lots of emails from marketers and none end up in my spam or promotions tab, and do you know why. They work real hard to make them not spammy. You are probably failing at that

Change the mail you're sending to and maybe also the autoresponder.
    Try ActiveCampaign or Sendlane.

If Gmail has marked all your email as spam, it's very difficult to make them change idea

You need to change the e-mail where you sent those e-mails from and maybe even mailserver after you have been blacklisted.
As agmccall said, you need to work hard on the content of the e-mail and sending methods to avoid it. Google is really good at filtering spam.

Interesting threat. I would suggest that you contact gmail regarding the issue. Otherwise maybe you could do a a bit of research regarding how to avoid spam complaints.

Thanks, I'm not getting any good info from this thread unfortunately, but I had to try.

Google is really good at filtering spam, and they are also, (like Yahoo), really good and moving good/ legit emails into the spam filter to.

If someone knows a good method to contact Google I would. Like saying to contact the White House or the Pentagon...

  • I think all the autoresponders are being marked as that.

When I send from aweber - I find my e-mails now get put in the "other" folder, which Microsoft makes very difficult to access.

It looks like you have been blacklisted. Have you made sure that you comply to the anti-spam laws of your location and the location of the people you are sending to?

It is common practice for us to include a short note at the bottom of the email (after a person subscribes), to add us to their contact list.

Are you sending out your emails to a cold list?

Yes, we can only write better for people to move us towards their 'not spam' or primary inbox. That is the only way forward.

If your message is considered spam, it will go to the spam folder.

Check your spam score before you send out the message.

You should check your content, ask Gmail support team about this. If you tried 2 ways above and it don't work, i think you should change your email and anounce to everyone
