Right email marketing software/service for me

I am looking for a professional email marketing service or software.

I have a small company. I send about 10 emails per year, all in 6 months period and my mailing list is about 1000 emails long and growing. Features that I want in my software/service: Scheduled mailings, duplicated emails check and some sort of spam check/proofing.

Since I do not send a lot of emails I am guessing that a one time buy of software would be better for me compared to subscribing to a service. Are there any downsides with using software compared to a service?

I looked into a few programs, and 3 meet my demands: SendBlaster, GroupMail and e-Campaign.

Does anybody have experience with programs mentioned above?

Any other comments and advices regarding the subject are highly appreciated.

    I think it's better to use an ESP that has a ''Pay-As you Go'' thing, it would be more cost-effecient, or by using a self-hosted service like Arpreach.

    Another option is if you're using WordPress, you can use a WP Email Newsletter like ''Mailpoet'', it's a one-time payment I think.

    And even if your ESP doesn't have what you want, there are tools out there that enable you to check and clean your list.

    I usully use Interspire and PowerMTA, there are fine if you want to work with them

      PowerMTA is not affordable for all, and interspire have shifted their focus from Email to E commerce now.

      I had much better experience with Mumara. I definitely recommend it.
