Hey guys!

I've been lingering for a while on Warrior Forum but I've decided to get involved in the community!

I'm starting to build an email list to sell a digital information product for photography.

As far as I know, I need:

1. Traffic via Ads on FB or Google

2. A high converting landing page with a free and valuable premium. A free webinar, ebook, report, a quiz that emails important results.

3. An email autoresponder service that collects emails entered on the landing page and generates automatic replies and a continuous delivery of emails at set intervals and dependent on customer behavior (opening emails, clicking links, etc)

4. Another landing page that brings someone from the premium or email from the autoresponder to a paid, low cost "Front end" product. This product is supposed to get you to break even with the first step where you bought ads.

5. Upon purchase of the first product, after a designated a period of time or when they are just about to purchase the first product, a second "up sell" or "back end" product. This is supposed to generate the majority of your income.

TWO questions...

1. Am I missing anything in this funnel?

2. What technologies do I need. Right now I see me needing...

A. Google/FB ads: Variable spend.
B. Mailchimp: Free until you generate more subscribers.
C. Lead Pages: $600
D. EverWebiner/WebinarJam: $500

Will this allow me to set up/automate, test, and analyze this system?

Thanks for any input you have!

    You are right on point.
I suggest you start from somewhere and improve or upgrade your tools as you go and also enlarge your budget.

If you encounter any issue you can bring it here and we all will be glad to assist in whichever way we can.

If I were you, for now I may do away with the webinar thing until you start making head way. Just my opinion..

      Thanks John!

When you say "improve or upgrade your tools," which tools would you upgrade, and what would you upgrade them to?

If you have a large enough budget, you could use ClickFunnels for the funnel building and ActiveCampaign or GetResponse to start off and then move on to a crm.

If you are short ok budget, optimize press should be enough for the funnel building, with one of the above mentioned auto responders

For deeper understanding of funnels, Russell Brunson's book DotCom Secrets is a good place to start.

      Ben,

Definitely short on budget. Because this is the first time trying my hand at Direct Response, I'm balancing spending enough to "do it right" and outspending my skill level since I have yet to run a profitable campaign.

I went ahead and picked up DotCom Secrets on Amazon.

One thing that confuses me is that so many tools do so many different things. What will Click Funnels do for me that the software I mentioned in my post wont?

I'm assuming Active Campaign and GetResponse are comparable to Mailchimp? What will they do for me that Mailchimp (free) can't?

      Thanks for your help!

        Hey Chase,

ClickFunnels makes it easy to setup all the pages required to get funnels setup. It's got templates for whole funnels to use. It is $97/m, so it's something to look at for later, especially if you can work with WordPress or HTML.

OptimizePress can be used to build funnels, but there is a lot of fiddling around.MailChimp from memory, doesn;t allow us to do affiliate marketing etc. GetResponse and Aweber do, but I've found Aweber not as good as GetResponse where you can setup some more automation. ActiveCampaign has a lot more automation capabilities, but Affiliate Marketing is not something they like people doing, although they do mention that as long as we are providing value in the email and then promoting something, it should be fine.

I haven't used leadpages, but from what I know all it does is help build optin and thank you pages, where as Clickfunnels seems to do a lot more.

I personally am using OptimizePress and WP Profit Builder at this moment wit GetResponse and Zaxaa (for shopping cart) to build and test my funnels. I was looking at ClickFunnels and may consider moving to it in 2017 based on where things go for me.

Looking into Clickfunnels, it does seem to be pretty robust. WebinarJam (Everwebinar) and Leadpages put me at about $1,100 of spend to get a year.

Clickfunnels puts me at $1,164 and apparently adds in the autoresponder (somewhat).

I'm skeptical though of the webinar and autoresponder features on Clickfunnels. They seem lacking compared to the other dedicated tools. Opt in pages I'm really comfortable with on there though.

Thoughts or experience with that side of things?

            Hey Chase,

I'd use an autoresponder rather than using the inbuilt one that uses Amazon SES, for the moment. As for the webinar, I didn't really look at it, but was in a funnel of another marketer who seemed to use that component. I don;t think its up to the quality of a standalone platform like EverWebinar, but I'm sure it will keep getting better over time.

All the best with your funnel building.

        Hi Chase,

Yes, you do want to balance it out and not overspend. However, you may also look at it as an investment. Since you are going to start doing this, I assume that you will try your best to learn and do what you can for this endeavor to succeed, yes? Well, a lot of people have earned a lot from email marketing.

RE: Clickfunnels and what it can do for you.
You might want to take a look at https://www.clickfunnels.com and how it can help you grow your business. You might also want to explore your different options. There is also Optimize Press as mentioned above.

I'm assuming Active Campaign and GetResponse are comparable to Mailchimp? What will they do for me that Mailchimp (free) can't?
Active Campaign, GetResponse, ActiveTrail (which has a landing page builder), and Mailchimp, are all email marketing software. Yes, they are comparable. Mailchimp is only free for up to 2,000 subscribers and 12,000 emails. After that, you will need to start paying a monthly fee, depending on the number of subscribers you have and emails you are sending out.

        Hope this helps,

          Thanks Desiree!

After considering everyones advice, I've decided to go with Clickfunnels+MailChimp to begin the journey. Would love to have everyone's input once I get the funnel set up.

          All the best,
          Chase
