I told her..."Bigger isn't always better!"

I was speaking with a client last week about her business. She told me that one of her friends was in the exact same business field.

She had over 2,500 people on her list and the other business owner had only a few hundred on his list.

She wanted to know how it was possible that he makes so much more money from his tiny customer list.

I asked her how and where she generated her list. Then asked her where he generated his list and how?

She was getting leads from one of those "guaranteed leads" type of companies. The other man was generating his own leads from his site simply by offering his complimentary report.

His report was specific to his niche and was specific to the type of customer he wanted.

She was going after leads no matter where they were. She was generating (paying for) massive leads, but the leads were generic and may not even be interested in her product or service.

Plus, shes a complete stranger to them.

She bought a list and shes cold mailing them. You see, we've spoke about this before...

Bigger Isnt Always Better.

It's not the size of the list that matters...It's the quality of the list.

Are you going after massive leads just to generate leads for your business? Are you following into the "bigger is always better" trap?

Once you begin focusing on quality versus quantity, you'll quickly see how much easier your business and marketing becomes.

Heres Some More Good News:

If youre struggling to get a quality list of your own or if have a nice list and cant seem to convert those leads into paying customers, then heres one easy-proven and guaranteed solution for generating leads and converting those leads into cash quickly...

Like we spoke about before

The absolute fastest way to get ahead and reach success is to module and use strategies that have worked for others successfully. Ones that have been tested and proven over and over.

Know your competition and most importantly your market inside and out as well and you'll be ahead of most if not all of your competition every time.

Ron Jeremy my disagree but I digress lol...it is true. Many people think that bigger is better and throw money towards traffic exchanges and cheap solo ads only to find out in the long run it doesn't work.

    Quality over Quantity always

    That's true.

Most people don't wanna hear that though.. it takes work.

They'd rather spend their time and money jumping from one thing to the next that promises them everything but delivers nothing.

And buying a list is a great example of that.

You are spot on man but unfortunately, the folks who buy all kinds of lists are comfortable with the pennies they get in return for their effort.

Absolutely. I see that a lot, where people think because they buy a junk list full of people or who built thousands and thousands of non-qualified leads and wondering why not converting. The key is quality over quantity.

There is nothing wrong with buying data (email), if you know how to monetize it. I have been doing it for over 16 years.

The key is to test a sample and get an idea of how quickly you can break-even on it, before spending a bunch of money.

I have little doubt that those that say to never buy a list, read it somewhere and now preach it as the truth or they tried and didn't know what they where doing and failed.

Also, it's not about the initial data that you acquire. You want to always be segmenting the opens / clickers and removing the non responsive uses. Converting it from quantity to quality.

Buying data and monetizing it, is a HUGE business!!! However it is really more a business model than atraffic strategy.

I'm not saying it is for everyone, but done right, it works and can be extremely profitable. Everyone that I know that is in the business and know what they are doing, most do 6-7 figures. While that is a huge range. Much comes down to ones ability to scale and effectively manage/build the infrastructure required to scale.

You know what? I am actually going to give this a shot. I am talking to Exact Data and am buying a list from them. Let me see if I can get them to convert - if I can, I should be able to really scale this up

I like this thread- thanks for the heads up!

Absolutely, can be very profitable if right targeted list, however what talking about is when people start looking at bigger list as better when it really comes down to quality, not quantity. No matter if your own list or someone elses, comes down to quality and testing.

I definitely agree with you. Over a couple of months I targeted really HUGE groups of people just to find out they were unresponsive and on easily 20+ other lists. Now I am targeting a very specific group of people that are far more responsive and are eager to receive my emails!

Absolutely, being targeted is crucial and applies not only to email lists, but also in all the marketing you do as a business owner.

Quality is more important. That is why I prefer double optin. Most of my friends like the single, but that confirmation says they are serious about my niche and about my info. It also says they gave me a real address and that they know to open my emails. It gives a lot less quantity but a lot more quality. On systems where you pay for how many users on your list you almost want more quality than quantity on that basis alone... The more laser targeted your lead the better. That is why I like pInterest over other platforms for free quality traffic. I only follow people and boards in my niche so if they click through they are already targeted. I am so glad someone else sees how important the quality is. Thanks for posting
