Big unsubsribe after asking them question!

Hi,
I've got a list of 10k, open rate is <2%. Last month, I promoted warriorplus offers and got 20+ sales but this month, I've got no sale at all although I promote them same kinds of products of the same vendor I did last month.
Yesterday, I sent them an email asking them what they wanted to receive from my email, but I've got only 15 reply backs and what get me surprised more is there are 15 people opted out of my list, which is 5 times higher than normal rate.
Can anyone here help me this strange issue?
Thank you!

Hi Paul, this is not strange at all. You will keep unsubscribers. These people are on many lists and receive tons of emails per days. Your open rate is a bit on the low side and you should try to improve that. Another point is that the buyers of your Warriorplus offers are also on the list of the Vendors and they send them the same offers you might be sending. You should keep refreshing your list.

How did you build your list, with solo-ads or with paid traffic like PPC, PPV etc.

    Hi,
Did you try split-testing the list?
Of course you will get constant unsubscribers every day because they receive emails daily.
My recommendation is to build your own list. This way, you'll know all of your subscribers are interested in the subject you sell/teach about.

Own list, a good storyline or a visualisation of how your relationship with them(subscribers) will work, a decent email builder(see the link). That's all you need.

    Hope this helps.

Hey Paul! Don't worry too much about unsubscribers. That's nothing to strange. Chances are they simply had a bad day or didn't quite like the writing style. Maybe people that haven't opened your mails for a long time now noticed your email because of a rather different subject line, opened it and thought: who the heck is Paul? And simply unsubscribed.

Every subscriber costs you money (more or less), so it's better if they unsubscribe than taking valuable space in your list!

I think that unsubcribing is just natural wastage. I would not stress on it.

It's usual behavior of the emailing list, either the repeated content or the asking what they want to receive can be the reason. And also it's not a big percentage as well.

Sounds like it is probably time for a re-engagement and segmentation series for your subscribers. Have you considered putting them through a few weeks of "knock knock...are you still there" emails to see who is still responding? you could then segment the responsive ones into another list and start working on removing the old subscribers that wash out the other end.

Don't get put off by unsubscribes...I actually welcome it with my lists as I am only focused on keeping the like-minded subscribers.
