Email service recommendations?

Personally, I use Aweber for my email autoresponder and EasyCGI for my email itself. I'm happy with both.

I am using aweber and are very pleased with them.

Aweber handles everything really well; from broadcasts to list management, everything is top notch. There are other services but Aweber is in my opinion one of the best

I use Get Response and especially like their lead capture page templates.

I've used AWeber and GetResponce in the past, and even dabbled with the free ESPs' like MailChimp, Listwire and the new kid on the block MailerLite

But all of these are now obsolete in my opinion.

MailerLite is worth looking at if you have absolutely zero money to invest.

Active Campaign, CovertKit and their competition are just as affordable, and light-years ahead with the features you need in the competitive IM and Ecommerce world of today.

Seriously people are still using AWeber in 2017?

I would recommended Aweber or Getresponse.

Go for premium and quality.

I am using Mailchimp and highly recommend it for everyone. Their pricing is very affordable and support is also great.

I would try out Convertkit.

They are a little more pricey but have a better interface and form integration than others. Have a look at their site, I think they have a trial period of 14 days, try them out. I switched from Aweber to them, never regretted this decision.

I would choose AWeber or GetResponse. Both deliver great results, and their rates are reasonable and worth it.

Am online for over 8 years and for me is the best Getresponse.Because is more flexible than Aweber in "Make Money Online" niche.

I have used both Getresponse and Aweber.

From my own experience, with Aweber, the open rates a MUCH better then Getresponse.

I've been using Aweber as my email service provider for the last 5 years. I would go with them.

I use GetResponse and i highly recommend it! Great layout, very user-friendly showing analysis of your messages, and chat support if you ever get stuck. I'm currently using it for my follow ups but also for my web form (email pop up on my site). The web form easily integrates with Wordpress which is a nice touch.

I haven't used any of the above mail providers mentioned above however, i do know people who are also very keen on Aweber.

If you start out using Mailchimp's free option, and then later you want to move your list to one of the other vendors for a paid option, can you do that? And is it good to begin with Mailchimp's free option if you have never even done email/list marketing before?

Anyone have any input or advice on that last question?

If you do it right, you can test them against each other to drive your delivery up and (most importantly) you retain full control of your list, removing the danger of losing it if you get shut down. I have been with Aweber for years and I have no plans on changing.

Every time I have had a problem, they have taken care of it for me, with no problems.

I use my own service . But there are many solutions and service provide email marketing with different features. depends on the volume you want to send mainly and what type of emails you want to send.

I have been on this forum long enough to know that the answer to this question will be Awebar and Get Response.


I just started a new campaign and I am trying out MailerLite which I learned about on this forum. It is free for the first one thousand on your list and the other prices look reasonable. The templates and other functions are fine, they remind me of Get Response although the terminology is a bit different, so it was slightly confusing to set up. I am also on the list of someone who send their emails with MailerLite and they look excellent.


So MailerLite might be a good option to try, particularly if you are on a tight budget.

As was pointed out earlier, if you plan to do affiliate marketing, do not choose MailChimp. I'd also think twice about MailerLite, if the definitions posted earlier are really what they think.

Many email services are biased against affiliates because of rampant abuse, which drags down the deliverability of the whole service and drives up the cost of complying with ISP policies.

Rather than commit the resources to monitor each affiliate account for compliance, they simply ban affiliate marketers.

As for moving between service providers, it can be done. Most of them require that imported subscribers be reconfirmed before you can mail to them. Odds are, you will lose a significant percentage of your list if you make them opt-in again.

When I was running my self-hosted email marketing software business, this was the number 2 reason for self-hosting - the freedom to use single opt-in where it was appropriate to do so.

I use Aweber. Very pleased with it. Have tried Getresponse and their lead capture page builder is quite good to use. Also, heard Convertkit is pretty good although I've not used it. Sticking with Aweber for now.

I encountered someone today associated with apparently using the services of a company that sells "do it yourself" (DIY) email marketing software, Interspire, which I had not heard of before. What about going that route instead of using a service provider? Which software is the best for the DIY route?

I followed everybody's advice and went with Aweber. Sometimes you just have to pay for good quality products, no other way around it

I'm certain you have gotten many responses. Consider signing up to several if they offer a free trial period. I use Sendlane. They are getting the job done.

You can also try trafficwave.net. Their autoresponder is quite affordable – $17.95 per month for unlimited subscribers and lists.

I have used Mailchimp for a little while, then GetResponse for 2 years until moving over to Aweber 3 months ago.

My experience with GetResponse was quite good for these 2 years but I kept having the feeling that Awebers customers were experiencing more open rates than GR users (I'm in the MMO niche btw).

A little comparison:

Customer Service:
I have to hand this one though over to GR as their live chat is open 24/7 versus only work hours and weekdays at Aweber. So if you want really fast support then GR is the choice.

User interface
Maybe not all people find it important but I do. I can see now that for me the Aweber UI is just somehow simpler, faster and "lighter". I experienced a little "lag" between pages on GR - don't know if it's the server or what - but I do know that I get my things done faster on Aweber - probably because I can find things faster.

Pricing
Aweber is a bit more pricier than GR but nothing that did hold me back from switching to them.

Delivery
I immediately noticed that my test emails (which are biz opps) almost never hit my junk filter or "promotions" in Gmail compared to all the times I had to tweek my GR, removing bad no-no words so they would show up in their main inbox. Now this is of course just based on my experience and not scientific data but I could notice a clear difference when it came to this. This is important because you want your subscribers to see your email before they decide to open it right?

Track record
Even though I could highly recommend GR it's hard for Aweber to go unoticed as they have been around since 1988 (if i remember correctly) and are renowned in this industry for being the go-to autorsponder for marketers.

Now you have actually dozens of autoresponders out there and I haven't tried them all so consider this just my 2 cents to your question.

After having played around with Aweber, Mailchimp, & Infusionsoft for a couple of years (both personal and with clients), a colleague put me onto AutoPilotHQ.

I've never looked back since, and all of my clients are now on it. I love it.. it uses drag and drop to create a whole AR process flow, has SMS integration with Twilio, and a beautiful API that I've found very easy to work with.

One downside is they only have basic Zapier integration, which thankfully hasn't been a problem for me as I've gone direct through the API where needed.

I'm not affiliated with AutoPilotHQ in any way, but I highly recommend them!

Personally, I have used MailChimp. You can try this.

I use Thunderbird. This email service for those who use email as a work tool at any time on any device.

I'm using aweber and works very good for me.

If you want a great service with many great automatization features you can try mailerlite it allows you to use all the features up to 1000 subscribers for FREE, after 1000 the pricing beats typically any autoresponder solution.

If you need a solution with high complexity of triggers, actions, etc then Convertkit is the best option hands down! In a very different layer, when you have a huge amount of subscribers i highly suggest Infusionsoft.

Wow, thanks for all the replies. I did try GMail on GSuite, but to set it up to how I wanted seemed overly complicated. I have fairly straight forward requirements I think!

In a nutshell, there are three of us, each with our own email addresses. There is also an info@ address, to which most the initial enquiries arrive to, from the various forms on our website. We also have a few aliases from past workers, that I would like to keep. Once we have an enquiry, we reply using our own email addresses, whether that's necessary or not, I don't know, but I felt it added a small personal touch to the booking process for prospective clients.

Ideally, I'm after a simple and dare I say it, as cost efficient a solution as possible, as we aren't a big business and our turnover isn't massive.

GSuite would have required me to set up another user of info@, which seemed an overkill. They offered me collaborative group emails, but the faff in setting that up seemed to far too great.

Surely there's a simple web-based client, that isn't too expensive, that I can use multiple email addresses with, that we can all log into and access each other's email accounts?
