Most ESP's, even if you get shut down, if you send an email to support, will send you the list to download. This person, I suspect, uploaded a list of their to the ESP and therefore would have it. If it was double opt in via forms, I doubt his account would have been shut down so easily.

I send 4 to 5 emails a day ... just to answer that. It very much depends on the niche you are in.

Ok, that said, there are ways for you OP to send to your list ... simplest would be to ask aweber if they'll allow you too import your list
you can make all leads opt in again upon import, that way your list will also be cleaned and act like a double opt-in list

Yes - You will lose a lot of subs in the process but you will have a clean and responsive list.
If your list was aquired in dubious ways and if there are a lot of addresses likely to bounce or be spamtraps then aweber will refuse to import your leads.

There are other autoresponder companies that will allow you to import a list, like sendpulse, ultramail24 and others but the same applies to them that applies to all mail relays (see below), they will be on the expensive side. Plus, their deliverability is probably a lot worse that GR or aweber.


Not so simple: get a server, install any app like Mailwizz (my fav), sendy, interspire ... etc, get an smtp relay like amazon ses, elastic email, mailgun, bulkresponse ... tatata and you're good to send

Downside: If you got kicked out of GR the likelyhood of getting kicked out of all of these mail relays is near 100%
I did NOT get kicked out of aweber (so far :-) ) but I did get kicked out of almost every other autoresponder company and mail relay service including amazon, elastic email and a lot of other major players.

Still, mailgun and mailrelay both work for me. Look up their pricing, compared to aweber or GR if you have a big list, even if you only send once a day this will be VERY expensive

Last not least: You can get your own email server and do everything alone. Including IP warm up, setting up the DNS records properly, installing IP rotation, installing a relay, handling bounces and feedback loops etc. Don't expect to replace GR any time soon with this method!

This is simply not true, there are plenty of email services that will allow you to send 1 million emails per day, 10 million emails per day, even 25 million emails per day without issue.

Walmart, Best Buy, and other massive retail brands use these same ESP services and send out tens of millions of emails per day, without issue.

To have this level of service and ease of running your email operation, requires massive amounts of capital.

The biggest issue your going to find with Sendy is that you must connect it with Amazon SES. And while Amazon SES is very cheap, their delivery is far from excellent, especially when you are trying to bulk mail with them. You will also find that they have a complaint tolerance of about 0.25% before they also shut down your account. This is going to be an issue with any ESP that you decide to use.

Sendy in itself is NOT a bulk email service ... it's just the app you use to organize you lists and broadcasts ... you still need an smtp relay and THIS is where the problem comes in.

Because smtp relays have to keep their sending reputation good, and anyone who sends messages that get filtered and trigger spam complaints will hurt their reputation, thus also their deliverability. And if their deliverability is bad they cannot charge customers high prizes or they cannot keep their customers ...

GetResponse is a great service, you just need to generate your leads thru their forms and then do your mailing that way.

Sendy can work for data that is clean and when you want to do volume, but their delivery is really not that great.
