how is this possible? state specific opt ins

i need to test something but i'm not sure if i need custom coding. my squeeze page has multiple tabs for opt in info (name, email, cell and state they live in)

if a somebody from California opts in, i want their info to be deposited into a "California" list in my auto responder (Aweber). if somebody from Florida ops in i want their info to be deposited into a seperate list, "Florida", in my auto responder

everytime a subscriber is added to a state specific list, i will designate my auto responder to notify the rep in that state. i want to automate this process.

i spoke to Aweber, i am allowed multiple lists and each list can have a designated email address to send notifications when a new subscriber is added.

i don't know the process or language i need to explain to a developer so i can accomplish this? do i need a developer? is this coding 101? is there a name for what i'm trying to do?

thank you

Do a google search for lead distribution systems.
There are plenty of companies that can take your paper leads, and you can create rule sets in them on how to handle leads when they come in and where to send them.
No coding is needed, just find the distribution system that best fits your budget and needs, there are literally hundreds of options.

    Furthermore, one thing I noticed.

Why are you asking the leads what state they live in if you are getting their phone #?
The area code of the phone number would already provide you that information, and therefore you are going to have drop off because the user has to fill in one additional piece of information.

    Something to consider....

Wouldn't most numbers you get be mobiles without area code?

        Really?

When was the last time you gave your phone number anywhere without an area code?

Furthermore, to combat this, just force the form to have 10 or 11 digits in it for it to be accepted, therefore collecting the area code still.

My mobile has no area code, but then I'm in Europe. Maybe I just assumed in the US it would be the same. The mobile number will show the carrier but not an area. That's assuming we are talking about US states. As I assumed OP was.

If we are talking countries, then yes. But that would still not provide the info that Op wanted (put someone in California list)
If we are talking country then surely there are trackers that can do this

You could create a custom submit script that converts the area code or the users IP to State and then posts the data to the correct list.

It will be cheaper to create if you ask for the state info on the form, instead of converting it from the area code or IP.

So it comes down to how much do you want to spend on your test.

What exactly are you trying accomplish? Why is it going into an autoresponder if you want it to go to a rep?
