Content vs Product Emails for Email Marketing

I run an ecommerce website. We are ramping up our blog content in 2017 and we realize that we can get a lot of repeat blog traffic via email marketing. Right now our emails are mainly sale/product based. What we are struggling with is deciding whether we have blog/content based emails in our current list or if we create a new list strictly for our blog readers.
I'm concerned that if we place blog content in our current email list that we will distract our subscribers from purchasing. On the other hand if we create a new list there may be confusion with our visitors about which email list they may be subscribed to.
Any advice is much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

hey...if you are sending me value that helps me in the niche that I am in...I want to see it..whether it is blog or sales items....

but even if you are hitting someone with offers...you probably need to drop some other info on them to keep them around....

I don't think that there is anything wrong with mixing up the emails your send to your current list. In fact they will appreciate you more for sending them something of value as well as products all the time. people who don't usually buy from you may in fact begin doing so. i say give it ago and track your result to see what gets you the best response.

I am an Email Copywriter and I would advise you mail your lists bought sale and content materials. The more value you offer your list the more they grow to trust you and become more willing to give you their sale.
If you only try to sell to them they may grow tired of your emails and opt out...remember, its not about you at all, its about your client, his wants his needs, he doesn't care that you want to sell to him, so ask yourself, if I was on my list would I bother to open these emails is all they want is for me to buy EVERYTIME!?

    You have to ALTERNATE

    Content emails,
Relationship emails (about your company, you etc)

    Promotional Emails.

And why not put sales product in blog posts also? So after directs visitors to your post they likely buy them?

Content and Product email both are different techniques which we are use in Email marketing. In content email marketing we send a full description about service what we are offering & what we can do for your project. On the other Product emails contain a proper product banner which describes the product information.

    Why not both?

Send informative, entertaining emails that relate to your product. When you have a new blog post have your CTA send them to it. Otherwise send readers to product pages. But give them a good reason to buy. Otherwise you might miss out on some sales!
