Just saw a WF post from some poor guy who got his email account at AWeber closed because a blog broadcast went rogue and an email was sent that violated their terms.

He got it back... eventually... but it's a cautionary tale for all of us.

Your list is the most important part of your business.

Maybe even your ENTIRE business.

So it's vital you back it up regularly.

In AWeber, for example, you just go to Manage Lists > Back Up & Export All Active Lists.

Simple, eh?

But tell me honestly... when was the last time you *actually* did it?

I know... me too :-/

It's just such a hassle to remember to login and manually download every time, isn't it?

Personally, as an AWeber user, I use AWtomator to backup my subscribers every day.

It's not a detailed backup like you'd get from AWeber - just email, subscriber status and key dates - but it's enough to save my skin if something bad happens.

The best part is I don't have to think about it... or "do" anything.

But whatever email provider you use, and however you choose do it...

Backup. Your. Lists. Regularly.

    Sounds to me like his blog may have been hacked or something, and the spammy posts just got swept up in the blog broadcast.

    no matter what the reason....your email list is your business...you must back it up in some kidn of way....I do the export thing you just said regularly....it is very important....
