How To Monetize Welding Email List

Hey guys,

Haven't posted anything here for a long time, but I know it's a great place to get help, so if you have any suggestions please let me know.

I own a welding training website. I sell info products (video courses) on welding. Basically, training hobbyists who want to learn how to weld. I've only rarely sent an offer to my list (besides the sales funnel they go through when they sign up for my email list).

Around 5% of those will become buyers. The other 95% are sitting on my list, stale.

So, I have 8,000 people sitting on my list but I don't have a clue what to offer them. They are mostly men. Oh, and I'm now getting about 1,500 email optins/month. Around 500 of those are from India so no real value there.

Anyone have any ideas on what else to sell the people on my list?

Thanks in advance

I searched for welding in the Clickbank Marketplace and a couple of welding related products showed up.

Would folks who signed up for welding also be interested in other types of trades such as woodworking?

There's a few different woodworking products on clickbank when searching for woodworking.

Here are some of the sub-niches in the Home & Garden section in the Clickbank Marketplace.

    Animal Care & Pets
    Crafts & Hobbies
    Entertaining
    Gardening & Horticulture
    General
    Homebuying
    How-to & Home Improvements
    Interior Design
    Sewing
    Weddings

You can try searching on google for something like welding affiliate welding training affiliate, etc...

    Hope that helps...

    Cheers!

Thanks Dale, that's my product you're looking at in the clickbank marketplace. lol. And yes, I've promoted the woodworking course. It's not a big hit with my audience.

    Hi Garrett,

Do you offer any continuity membership?

I teach people how to make picture frames from beginners right up to professional training including business management.

One thing I've always sold is a monthly membership where every month I do live broadcast where new methods are demonstrated and the members can ask questions.

The past episodes go into an archive and they also get edited up in HD and sold as DVDs.

I then go back to the list and offer the edited live training as a $7 tripwire with an order bump for a copy of the DVD on a free + Shipping offer with an upsell into the continuity program.

This way there is always a new offer to go out to the older subscribers and gradually one of the topics peaks their interest and they become buyers.

As for welding I would imagine there could be numerous opportunities to show different projects.

Each of these projects help you segment your list.

For example. "Six welding tips for trailer boats and boat trailers"

Then the people who subscribe to watch that live cast are likely to have an interest in boating.

Later you can send them to other offers like anything to do with boat maintenance, water skiing, fishing etc.

You could always hop on a webinar with other hobby type people like myself and cross promote each other's offers.

You can always make up a welder's resource guide that has affiliate links to both products and courses.

If you want to see how I do something similar this is the landing page--->
    https://www.pictureframeclass.com/framers-resource-guide.html

You can always opt-in and take a look.

If you want to ask any questions about how I've got things set up please do.

    Best regards,

    Ozi

Ozi, thanks so much for sharing that. Your business is similar to mine so the ideas you have you work good. I signed up on your list to see how you're doing things and I'm now thinking about doing recording a bunch of videos on different welding projects, and selling them as tripwires as you mentioned.

Like you mentioned, my goal is to peak people's interest and segment them onto different lists. Thanks for your recommendations.

Obviously you should be an affiliate for entry level Miller and Lincoln welders and welding hoods.

If you want to up sell further branch out to plasma cutter training and sell plasma cutters through an affiliate network.

You could send them current deals happening on products on amazon.

9To5Mac always has posts where they show great deals on computers and electronics and they've probably made a good chunk from me.

Just only recommend the stuff you stand behind.

Stick to being honest and people will stick with you.

Thanks, I'm now considering doing a $10/month membership site where people will get 3 video walkthroughs of welding projects they can sell for cash.
