Trying to maintain current subscribers and get new ones with blog posts

Hi, I feel like there is a better way of doing it than how we're doing it now.

In an effort to keep our current subscribers...well subscribed, our company has been creating weekly blog posts (just one) + a voucher code. But here is the dilemma. The same weekly blog post - we are using to try to get new readers to sign up for our newsletters. We have been haemorrhaging subscribers before this hence the current strategy.

Here are the deets (and concerns)
1.) We cannot display the voucher code on the blog post. We need new users to enter email addresses first before they get the code. This I have resolved by embedding a Shortstack form in the post for new users to fill out.

2.) Because I cannot write the code on the post, current subscribers must already be given the code on the weekly mail they receive. But that leaves them little reason to click the banner to read the featured blog post, unless they are actually interested in reading it.

Did that make sense, and do you understand my dilemma? I hope you guys can provide insight if maybe what I'm doing is bad or good, and if you have better suggestions that you may have tried in the past. Please and thank you!

Maybe I'm off base here, but how about finding out what they are actually interested in reading and producing that as your content?
