How to start sending affiliate offers to my email list?

Over the past couple of years I've built up an email list of people who have purchased physical products from me. They've all opted into my list with the provision that I may send them affiliate offers. I've never actual sent them affiliate offers, I've used the list to send updates about the products I sell myself.

The trouble is that it's becoming difficult to keep sending out physical products since it requires time to assemble products, print postage, keep my printer running, etc.

But I would like to start sending out affiliate offers that my list might be interested in. I'm not sure how to start though.

My list is a little over 800. This is not a large list, obviously, but each one of these people have actually purchased a physical product and most have been very happy with the products I've sold them. So I'd expect this list to be very responsive since I have a good relationship with them already.

Are there any tools I could use to find other products that my list might be interested in, considering they've all purchased the same type of products from me?

I do have a membership to JVZoo so I could look through their marketplace, and I've purchased several of the programs from Michael Cheney and others though I haven't gotten around to doing much with them.

Given how responsive my list has been to the products I've sold them, I think I could make some decent money on affiliate offers.

Thanks.

If I were you, I would look for new physical or digital products that you own to push to your list.
Sending affiliate offers will ensure your list gets beat up nice and hard after you have made some conversions.
Keep your buyers from getting this, and just continue to sell your own stuff, it will pay off way better in the longer term.

  • Have you considered creating your own information products related to the physical products they have bought?

    Does that scan?

Can a digital product showing your customers how to get the best out of their purchase, enhance their experience?

Can a digital product increase the value of your physical products?

Just thinking this through should give you a few ideas of what affiliate products to sell.

That's great that you are exploring the options of affiliate marketing through your email list.. even though you think that your email list isn't 'big' it's still great that you grew it to a little over 800 and that they all have great experiences with purchasing from you ( you can take full advantage of this)

I would recommend for affiliate marketing that you look for offers on the following websites

    1. JVZoo
    2. Clickbank

Remember when sending out emails to your subscribers the BEST strategy for conversions is to always use: value, value, pitch

    Hope this helped you!

Warm up Emails. We start with 'Warming Up the Email List." Just google "warm up emails" for what to do and more information.

Complementary Products. Not knowing what products you sell does not help with a specific answer to your question. With that said, almost all main products have a complementary product or substitute products you can sell as an affiliate such as printers and printer ink.

Your Own Website. You can query your list with surveys and know from the results what your customers want and are willing to pay for.

No Website. Affiliate marketing without a websites is doable and many here sell affiliate products without a website. From experience it is just not as profitable compared to having your own online presence.

    > Membership Site. Last but not least is my favorite way to sell affiliate products.

In what niche are you? Is it making money online or something else? Clickbank.com is one of the best places to find high quality products to promote. Choose one that pays monthly recurring commissions instead of a one-time commission only.

You must also send useful information to your list, not only sales pitches. They signed up to receive useful information from you.

Why not ask your customers what they may be interested in? Setup a pole so they can vote, its easy on facebook, that brings me to my second point; have you setup a Facebook Private Fan page for your customers? It would help you to get your messages out, its a place to post your affiliate offers and info about your product updates too! These could may your life easier and with a list of 800 you have 800 more than anyone starting from scratch. ;-)

Disagree with facebook and any other social media site for that fact simply because it would create opportunities for the subscribers to be exposed to third party offers.

An important 'rule of thumb' is to maintain the prospects interest on your offer by not sending prospects to a platform with other companies offers. Also, consider there may be other people's negative reviews of your affiliate offer, etc.

When social media sites were new and gaining popularity a lot of experienced marketers knew this and discussed it here on the WF. Many agreed to start their own social media platforms for that purpose and the end result, years later, is amazing for most. Those that could not afford to create their own social media sites created membership sites in the stead. Also with amazing results in most cases.

You can pitch almost any affiliate offer inside a membership site without exposing existing customers and new prospects to outside offers.

As we've already stated, email is an incredibly powerful method in which you can reach a huge number of people at once.

Affiliate marketing through email is essentially sending out information to a subscribers' email address with a piece of software and having your affiliate link within the email. When the person clicks on that link and buys the product or service that you are promoting, you will earn a commission through the affiliate program that you sign up with. List building, which we are going to look at later on in this post, is a highly skilled strategy however it is one that you can learn and develop.
