What to promote in a solo ad?

I know the answer is quite obvious but I am not very familiar with this just yet. I think what most people promote in a solo ad is an affilaite offer or a link to their own squueze page?

What if I promote the link of my blog? Yes I may not get sales but what if I make subscribers myself?

I been looking at solo ads at safe swaps and I dont know wheter i should buy a solo ad with me promoting a good clickbank product or just some promotion of myself. I think most lists are in the IM niche so Im fine.Just feel like testing I never done in the past by buying 100 clicks for like 40$. 100 clicks to a good Clickbank product might just convert to sales!

Create a squeeze page to capture leads. Do NOT just promote a home page, etc. If you do, you will be wasting your time and money.

You can give something away or sell something at a low pricepoint.

Remember you are paying for every click. You will get more leads if you give something away, but if you sell something, the leads will be of a higher quality.

Make an ebook about what your blog covers. Send people to a squeeze page to download and capture their email. For the thank you page send them directly to your blog

  • In addition to the above, I would also start with 50 clicks rather than 100. There are many sellers that will give you a "starter" 50 click package with a first time buyer discount as well.

Most solo ad vendors will NOT even let you promote an affiliate link. It has to be to a squeeze page

Don't try to direct link CB through solos because most sellers only accept free offers. And even if you direct link CB to cold traffic, with only 100 clicks there's simply not enough data to tell if it's good traffic or not. You may get conversions and may not! Best thing to do is to build a funnel for the product, starting with a squeeze page and follow up emails - promoting the same offer for at least 7 days. It'll convert better that way. And if you're linking to your blog remember to add that pop up opt in form plugin. It really helps gaining more subscribers
