How Do You Get Your CONTENT For Your List Building?

Just as a general piece of advice, learn the niche you are going to be promoting.

I'm never unfamiliar with any niche I'm in. In fact, learning it upfront is a part of my qualification process for getting involved to begin with.

When I first started, I use to promote any niche that seemed tight and exclusive. I quickly realized that just because a niche seems really tight and busy doesn't mean they are always buyers.

So learn your niche up front to not only avoid losers, but it will answer the questions you as in this post because you will know what the people really want to begin with.

I want to know where and how you get your contents for the list building. such as:

1. The Free ebook report or the free video.
2. The follow up valuable contents.
3. The interested topics to write on.

1. Write it. If you don't write well, hire a competent writer. Some will say they repurpose PLR. That's okay but so much PLR is crap to begin with you'd need to start from scratch.

2. Write it. See above.

3. I've probably written this 100+ times since I've been here. Why in the world would you choose to market something you're not familiar with? Everything becomes infinitely harder when you do that. It's a chore just getting out of bed knowing you'll be spending your day with something you don't really relate to.

Find a market you at least like, and ideally, you love. You'll find the three items above will almost magically fall into place when you like what you're doing. Good luck.

The ideas and actual content should come from you...

Let me put it this way, if your list brought you $20,000/month for the next few years wouldn't it be worth it to spend a few hours researching their most pressing challenges, finding their top desires and coming up with solutions, systems, steps, tips, etc... to pre-sell with?

So many people start list building (or any online marketing activity) without really believing in the potential outcome, so without that they look for shortcuts, easy ways out that unfortunately lower the quality which reflects back on you and your business.

Can you get people to produce the content after you have created/scripted it? Sure!

You can find those people on Elance, Odesk, freelancer or often right here on Warrior Forum. Just make sure you don't completely outsource the content planning and creation or you are likely to be disappointed in the results (by results I mean list response and sales)

And besides (and this is my opinion of course) you have NO right entering a market you have no knowledge in.

take the time to master the niche your are entering, read lots of articles and content from experts in that area...

Look at their social media profiles, and look for content that people love.. Lots of likes engagement..

then add your own spin and make it unique... As you get to know the niche, you'll be able to uncover problems and offer solutions...

Before you can get your content, you have to know what you want to offer to your readers.
Here's a few pointers to think about for that free offer.
1. It must be related to your niche.
If the offer is not something that your target audience is interested in, they are not likely to opt-in.
2. It must be something valuable that the audience normally have to pay some money to get it such as A min-course, a special report, a how-to guide, etc.

Once you have decided the appropriate free offer, then you can look at a few places to get the content.
1. If you are not too familiar with it and do not want to spend money, then you will have to do your own research and come up with something. The common places that that I go to are:
Yahoo Answer
e-how.com
Just type your search query and you will get back tons of information. Read them and rec-compile the questions and answers into an ebook. Obviously, you will have to spend a bit of time here.
2. Buy Private label rights.
Do a search with your niche and PLR and you will be able to find sites which offer PLRs.
The thing with PLR is that the contents most likely have be used by many other people. So what I like to do is to take a few PLRs, combine the contents and re-write them with my personal touch.
3. Do a product review and offer that as a free report.

For follow up valuable contents, I normally look for topics in my niche that my audience would be interested in. For example, if your niche is in Internet Marketing, there are tons of sub topics like how to set up your blog, how to drive traffic, how to optimise your site for SEO, etc. Occasionally you can link your email to your blog post. Once in a while send an affiliate link to your audience.

Interesting topics to write on.
Here's a few ideas you can explore.
1 Write How - to guides
2. Product reviews
3.Review tools/software that you are using
4. Go to Yahoo answers and find what are the common questions that people are asking and write an article or a series of articles on it.
5. Go to other blogs in your niche and see what people are writing. I am not asking you to scrap the contents off other people site and you should never do that. Use that as a guide to come up with new ideas.
6. Talk about your personal experience.

I write most of it myself. At the beginning when I was broke I wrote every word. Before I go into a niche I make sure I know the audience(who I'm selling to) their problems and the solution. I outsource a little know but I like doing it myself and in my voice. It makes it sound more original to the audience. I know I hate getting boring, dry, emails and articles that were written by a good writer but are not original in any way.

Write it yourself or hire somebody who is a decent writer! You can get ideas of good content or niches from buzzsumo.com for example.

When it comes to video marketing I highly recommend to get familiar with the niche or market and do the videos yourself to brand yourself.

Read books in that are related to your niche and study the best in your field.


Read blogs, watch videos, study training courses, and over time you will have enough knowledge to create tons of unique content.

It's really best to be familiar with your niche, even if you outsource the writing to someone else. Because it's your list and you should know what kind of content would convert. Even if you don't write it yourself, you should know the material enough to give your writer an outline and resources he/she can use. A good writer can write any ebook but it won't read like it came from an expert if you don't give your writer enough guidance.

You can either write your own free report or rewrite PLR reports that you can get pretty inexpensively.
For more topics to write on this niche you are in, I guess you just have to be curious and interested in it so that you will start researching and learning as much as you can about it to have good topics to write about. Do search on Google and see what topics comes up, check out books, and put in the keyword in Google Keyword Planner and see what comes up. You can get lots of ideas from these places.

If you are on a budget, you can always scour around for good PLR contents which you can buy at an affordable/cheaper price than hiring freelancers to create the product from scratch for you. Most of these can be edited and you can put your voice to it, edit parts of the plr product and then use it.
Another way to go about it is to write/create the product yourself.

When I'm in content-writing mode, I look to see what other people are writing about and add my own take to it.

You will want to create your own content for your report or series. Start by writing down a series of questions that you will answer in your autoresponder report. Then fill in the information under each question (such as the answer) that you will provide. Then put the results of each into one day's autoresponder. As for the report, that could be a compilation of your blog posts which you have already created or tips you have tweeted over the years in your niche.

At the risk of repeating some of the above information... Here's the best ways to get content:

- Buy PLR articles - then rewrite these (or use Fiverr or iwriter.com) to request a re-write from a high quality writer who will do it manually (NOT spun).

- Using Fiverr & Iwriter.com, as we as requesting re-writes, you can also request for an article to be written from scratch - just provide the title & what kind of content you are looking for (professional or friendly tone)

- Buy PLR eBooks - then break these down into several articles (either by sections or chapters). You can get 10-12 750-1000 word articles from a single good eBook.

- You can also purchase PLR autosponder messages to keep your subscribers on your list. Just make sure they are good autosponder messages & will keep your readers attention.

This also depends on how you positioned yourself to your subscribers.

You can tell them you will send them anything around in the topic you find useful.

If you need content to get subscribers, you can either give away PLR content or make your own products using older blog posts and articles. Most IM marketers use PLR eBooks, videos and other types of content for building their list. The key is to choose a quality product that offers value to your audience. If you're on a tight budget, look for free PLR content online.

Sales copies and email info freebies are great when written by the real owner of the site. The owner will have the knowledge to give real solid info rather than finding someone to write them for you. Writing them yourself also brings up more conversion rates than normal

For me I would start reading top blogs related on my niche. I will use google blog search for that. And I would also use ezinearticles to find some top articles on that niche.

Actually the best way is to write your own content.

I was trying not to before but I started to see my real success after I finally made everything by myself, took time but was definitely worth it.

I research it, create it and... er... research it again.

I normally go into markets I have experience in, or markets I'm actively trying to find out more about myself because it makes the research a lot more interesting for me.

I have quite a bit of PLR and realized that it is all written pretty badly. I understand that you can change it, but I agree that it is better to find the area you want to target and just do all of the research and writing on your own... What better way is there to learn than by doing it yourself?

Best ways to get content is by reading tons of articles, listening to podcast, and studying your niche like a hawk.

Podcast has got to be the easiest way to feed the brain though

If you don't have the time to write it hire a content writer to ghostwrite it for you. I have done this for many, many clients and they've had great results. Just make sure that the writer knows what you want and that they understand your industry to get the best results.

For free report, you can get PLR product or hire a wirter.

For email follow up, you can try " Questions & Answers" Email. Look for questions people are asking. Find the best answer, put it into your own words - and send it to your email list. Nothing could be simpler.

Nothing beats writing your own custom content. Readers feel more connected when they see genuine information in font of them. They do not like automated messages or sales pitches. Give them humor, give them videos, give them something interesting to look forward to!

As for content, I think I can add nothing more than what has already been discussed above;However I think you may like the following tools to help you manage and grow your list.

Then you need to do research:

Forums, question and answer sites, groups, communities and social sites specific in your niche are ways to figure out what your prospects questions and concerns are. Then create solutions as free ebooks, videos, info graphics and other content.

You want to provide the content that will help them, that's why first you go to those sites to figure out their problems.

You can also read articles in your niche (grabbing the best ideas in each one and compile them into something new).

Interview experts in your niche may be hard, but it's another option - probably however you won't be able to use the content as yours (but interviews audio can be given away for free, or bonus etc, podcast too).

Before I promote anything on my niche, I spend a week for "immersion time" i.e. research. Visit the blogs, the experts' websites, forums, podcast directory, Youtube, what products been sold, buy the books about it, signing up to other marketer's mailing list if any and check out how they mail out and format their freebies & offers.

This is how I get the ideas sinking in, and compile them in freebies (ebook and emails). Sometimes you can write your own experience and case study how you start it all from ground zero, and tell them what value they can get from you. People loves reading others' experiences they can relate to.

In the end of the day, these efforts are paid off. Your readers have BS filter in them and they can quickly spot if you're just speak mindlessly, or if you really speak from knowledge.
