TIP - Auto Responder Deliverability

Here's a cool way to increase you deliverability with your autoresponder service

Change your from e-mail address to a hosted one...

meaning don't use free services like yahoo, gmail, hotmail etc... you'll get WAY lower deliverability...

You should use an email like this

yourname@yourwebsiteaddress.com

If you use @gmail.com or @yahoo.com etc

You'll fall in the the spam folder more often..

That means LESS traffic and less money.

Change it now and let me know your results!

Yes that's a good idea, especially if your list start growing big, all the percentages really add up, so it's best to get everything right to increase your conversions.

Great tip Gavin. One thing to note though, if anyone is using a yahoo.com or aol.com as their FROM address at an email marketing service, your email won't even get delivered to the spam folder. It'll bounce and not be delivered at all. Yahoo and AOL rolled out changes to their network a month or so ago that prevent sending emails with Yahoo/AOL addresses from anywhere other than Yahoo or AOL portals.

We had a big write up about it on our blog when the changes happened. This affects anyone doing email marketing from anywhere.

This is a great auto responder deliverability tip. I've noticed this too, and I also add the cpanel email addresses to my windows live email client so reply emails are downloaded automatically without me having to constantly check each of those emails accounts.

Nice tip for less spam folder trips.

You should definetly avoid using freemail period
because that will typically cause low deliverability.

Another great one is to ask your subscribers first thing you do when they sign up to add your e-mail address to their contact list so they don't miss out on any useful information that might help them solve their problems.

I tried this and it raised my open rate from average 7% to 22% so it works.

Unfortunately to often our emails end up in the junk folder even though we are legitimate marketers.
