Which List Makes The Most Money?

Most (good) product creators have two main email lists.

List 1: A list of their affiliates
List 2: A list of leads in there sales funnel.

Which list would be more profitable? If you where to put the same amount of money into each list, which would come out making the most money overall? Spending money in gathering affiliates is a good way to ensure your products get a wider reach, but fresh leads in a sales funnel may buy from you again in the future (or buy nothing at all).

So which list would you spend the money on to get the most amount of profit, or would you say they are both just as valuable as the other?

Just trying to get some more efficiency going.

I would have to venture out and say the list of affiliates are more valuable. The leads could be anyone... Hot, warm, cold leads... who knows? Affiliates are at least warm or hot leads.

Yeh good point. Does anyone know of a way to make sure you only target great affiliates, so you dont get so many wannabes?

The initial launch period is very important to attract good affiliates. So basically what you need is a good buyers list, and send to them first to get a high amount of sales from your own list. Then your conversion rate and EPC will be high and will attract great affiliates.

Any vendor who's selling on ClickBank doesn't actually have that (unless they elect to white-list all their affiliates right from the start, but who does that??), because there isn't a way of identifying or contacting their affiliates. Affiliates can be entirely anonymous, even to the vendors of the products they promote (and a surprising number are, too).

    Just saying ...

There is no way to answer that question. Your list of affiliates could all be a bunch of deadbeats. Your buyers list could be all hungry buyers who gobble up everything you have.

Not only that but lists can change over time. A list that can be making you 5 figures a month could suddenly grow stone cold dead for a variety of reasons. Niches change and evolve. New niches comes out that make old niches obsolete.

Personally, I've never had a list of affiliates. But I can tell you that the few products I put up at Clickbank hardly ever got me more than a few affiliates. I always found it easier to build a buyers list. So you need to take that into account to.

Bottom line, there is no definitive answer to your question and if you're looking for one you're going to be very disappointed.

I will tell you one thing the most profitable list is the most cultivated one, this is where you look after your list and give value to your list. That's where the profit is.

To start with, I think having leads is important. Once they turned into affiliates, you have an easy life.

Many people sign up for affiliate programs, but few actually make sales. Most are looking for get rich quick and there's no such thing in affiliate sales. Sitting back and waiting for randoms/customers to sell your product for you is futile. If you want sales from affiliates, you have to go out of your way to get those people to opt into some type of email training/coaching for training.

Would have to say leads (personally)...

For the majority of my affiliate work gets done through messaging

    But none of that matters...

If the person 'behind the wheel' doesn't know how to willingfully, joyfully, and enthusiastically get others to help them out

(whether that be promoting / buying products, etc)

They are both of equal value to me.

It's how you attract and treat these lists that matter most.
