Aweber requests for double opt in, even if single opt in was set

Well, as per title.

I have specifically set single opt in the settings. Removed the success URL (for double opt).

But when I use my own personal emails to sign up, they were all prompted for confirmation.

Any ideas?

Would really need to see everything to know specifically what's going on. (You can PM me if you want)

One thing...what are you using for the lead capture? A WP plugin or something similar? Or just the "code" you are getting straight from Aweber?

If you use a plugin or in anyway "connect" your Aweber account to something, it requires a double-optin regardless of what you are trying to do. So if you are using a WP plugin and have it "connect" to your Aweber account, Aweber over-rides your settings and uses double-optin.

    Clear? Helpful??

Dumb question, but your aweber account was set to single optin when you first signed up for it, correct?

What do you mean by your first line?

Anyway, there's no plugin. I just copy-pasted the raw HTML code from aweber straight into a HTML page.

hhmm.. I am trying to remember now, should be under your account settings. Or you could check a list settings, should be in there.

Just know that once you set it as double opt-in (which might even be default, when you sign up for an account, think it is), there is no going back to single optin.

Well it does look like single opt in to me. Or are there other settings for this?

Your right, looks like single optin. Unless there is an over-ride?

    Why not as Aweber themselves?

Unless some one else has a better idea. I don't know.

Wouldn't it be easier to ask Aweber support directly?

It doesn't matter if you have single optin selected, there will always be certain email addresses that are asked to confirm. These include any email addresses with less than 4 letters before the @ symbol, and any other email addresses that have spam words in them. Also multiple attempts from the same IP address will be asked to confirm so if you keep testing your own form then this will happen.
