Sending people emails that haven't given you there permission to do so is in violation of the Counter Spam Act and can lead to prosecution stay clear from buying lists online...

I agree with your reply. Though, email marketing is a great way to get leads; you cannot just send emails to everyone

    Hey,

People still buy lists, you have to do it right way without breaking the law.

Law does not state any where about permission or no permission, it sets a few rules that must be followed, more on this on FTC website. Note there is no mention of permission any where

If you want to buy lists, you must choose right provider who has following qualities

    1. Lists are cleaned from traps, bounces, unsubscribers and complainers
    2. List is highly targetted otherwise there is no point of sending
    3. Not aged more than 1-2 years

This way you can comply with law, and at the same time be able to send mails to purchased lists.

If you don't have database yet, I'd avoid to buy it. Those are useless addresses and it's a waste of money to buy them and sending them newsletters is just pointless. I've done that. The key to success in mailing is building your own database with email addresses of people who agreed on getting newsletters (it's known as double opt in).

If you have the budget and time, why not build from scratch and grow your list exponential through solo ads?

    1. You will be building your OWN list and your subscribers are familiar with you
    2. You can be assured about the quality of your subscribers.

The risk with buying a huge list is we are not sure how responsive is the list. Also need to know what's your objective. If you are selling a product of a niche than you are not sure if the list are buyer lists. So it is better to build your own list through solo ad.

Buying a list is a total waste of time and money...

You'd be far better off setting up a squeeze page and sending good quality solo ad traffic to it from a reputable seller.

At least you'll know your subs are interested in your niche, AND you're not breaking any spam laws.

Don't buy a list, there is many reasons.

      1. You don't have permission to email them.
      2. They will probably bounce or end up in Spam folder.
      3. They don't trust you.
      4. They will most definitely NOT buy anything from you.
      5. You waste time and money + probably get your autoresponder account shut down.

There is a lot of more reasons for this but these are the most important ones I can come to think of.

Like many people said, build an email list, get solo ads and reinvest those profits into more advertising. Once you have a permission based quality list you can monetize it in many ways.

Have you tried solo ads, facebook pages and groups? or better still search for lead generation companies.
