Question warriors, is it possible to build an email list without a website or blog? And if you know it is possible, can you share?

Thanks for all the help and info warriors!

I'm not sure how you'd do that without having a domain name for the list's email address. So, you'd have to at least get that set up somehow (maybe use the registrar's email option or something). But, some autoresponders let you add people to a list if they send an email to the list's address.

So, at least you wouldn't technically have to have a website. You could use forums in your niche and write something like this: "send an email to xxxxx for more info."

I don't really recommend this sort of thing, but it could work.

It is possible, but you need a place to host your signup and thank you pages. So you will probably end up paying for that anyway so why not just get a domain for 10 bucks and a hostgator account for $9.00 per month install wordpress and get a plugin like papertemplate for your squeeze page. And later on if you want to build a website you are ready to go

The short answer is yes, you could build a list without a website or a blog. Get response, for one will host your web form ( for capturing email address's) for you. But you will be much better off in the long run if you did build your own website or blog for many reasons. The most important one is the fact that you want to build up a relationship with your subscribers as an authority in your chosen niche and what better way to do that then to be able to send them to your site which presumably is built with quality information and resources for your site visitor to peruse. Good Luck.

I see your point, I'm struggling right now. I want to build a website, but I struggle with selecting a niche that I know enough about to build a website around. I think I could come up with an autoresponder series for some niches, but not a full website. I was just wondering if people had made websites without lists and what methods exist.

You can...most email marketing services host your web form and the rest. You can even use third party websites like LeadPages and similar services that host squeeze pages etc.

But its always good to have your own page and website too.

Host your form with the email provider and direct traffic to that hosted form.

Your traffic won't be coming from your own website anyway, so this saves you from spending time on that. Focus on getting your opt-in offer onto as many targeted traffic sources as possible.

Social, forums, classifieds, ppc ads, you get the idea.

    Again, Getresponse.

Try it free for 30 days.

    1. Create a squeeze page what getresponse calls a web opt-in form. which can be hosted by getresponse.

    2. Create, interview or find a PLR product.

    3. Create a Dropbox account and upload the freebee product there.

    4. Place Dropbox download link into the thank you page that comes after the opt-in confirmation e-mail.

    5. Have a link to an affiliate offer after the confirmation that has something to do with your giveaway on your thank you page.

    6. Create WSO for your "FREE" offer to drive traffic to it.

    Good luck!

yea, you can build a list without a website. hell I dont even look at the return email when I get emails, I just look at the name.

drop box like the above poster said works fine.

of course getting a website is probably a good idea in the long run, but for starting out, it isn't " needed"

I would recommend LeadPages. You can create some excellent looking optin and thank you pages.

Yes it's possible. You can build opt-in pages and have them hosted at Leadpages.

You can also build lead pages and have them hosted with Getresponse (an autoresponder) for less money, but I don't think the pages are quite as nice.

But if you want to build a list without a website, and stay on a tight budget, you can do it with Getresponse for about $15 a month with the autoresponder included.

Great Thread...Makes me ask the question...I have seen LeadPages listed here and Chillins27 listed a nice down and dirty method. Does anyone else have any other methods or tools they use that are effective enough to recommend?

    Cheers,

Hi, It is easy to do without a website and I have had great success using Facebook however you will need something like Aweber to collect email addresses and then send out emails to your list. Aweber can easily be linked into your Facebook page. You will need to start and then grow a Facebook group for your niche and then direct them to sign up using the Aweber facebook app.

As long as you provide quality content and engage your audience this should be easy to do.

Thanks for all the info folks! This thread has been gold! I actually put this stuff to the test last week and hosted an opt-in page with Aweber and then did some blog commenting. I have 4 subs and getting more everday. Cheers!
