Aweber Vs MailChimp, which one to take?

Aweber and GetResponse are both very good. I wouldn't even think about Mailchimp at all, if you're any kind of internet marketer.

Mailchimp is the defact standard for free email marketing software imo. I've heard good things about CampaignMonitor and a few others but MC makes it really easy to start/produce quality results.

I'm a music producer who sells beats/instrumentals online and I am currently using MailChimp (MC) $9 paid subscription. The problem I'm having with MC right now is the autoresponder timing. Right now I'm running a Campaign "Subscribe Now and get a free Beat, You Choose". Well, the problem is that MC will deliver the letter to the customer who signs up within the hour of opting in (more like 59mins later). I need a service who can send this email immediately or at least within a 15 min. time frame. Any recommendation will be great!

MC is great if you just wanna say hello to a group of people, but if your business model is set up like mine and time is a customer, you gonna lose!

In my circumstance, yeah its good i have webed the email addressed, but branding and winning trust of the customer is important. When my customer optin for a free beat, they are not looking to receive it an hour later. In MC I can't alter the conformation notice they send out to tell them of the wait.

I'm at the beginning stages of this list, but I like to look long range. I'm starting to scratch my head about MC.

If you're a serious marketer and want the best right upfront, you need to go for a system that is long established as being the best. Things you need to look at are ease of use, deliveralbility, support etc. There have always been only two in the running for the top dog acolade, Aweber and Get Response. I'm not saying there aren't others out there that are good. Just remember 'free' doesn't mean good in any language. Good Luck

I've used Aweber for over four years and have no complaint... AND their support is outstanding!

I wouldn't mind betting Aweber's delivery rate is WAY better than Mailchimp.

If you are not going to actively promote any product and just keep your communication with your subscribers then mailchimp is a good choice..

If you wanna promote and sell something, then choose either aweber or getresponse. I've had first-hand experience with GR.. and I highly recommend it

I had the same problem when I was starting of with Internet Marketing.

I first choose Mail Chimp as it gives free service till 2000 subscribers.

But frankly it was just a waste of time as I could not use any autoresponder service other than just garbing subscribers.

So I decided to shift to Aweber and in the first month only I got everything I needed and in just $1. I could make a pop up signup form and side bar optin form and also a optin form that I inserted in my blog post.

I could send unlimited follow up messages as there was a restriction in Mail Chimp and more over they have a great support desk and response time is great.

With all these great features I am now using Aweber and Highly recommend it over Mail Chimp.

One annoying thing about Mailchimp that I wanted to mention is that you can have only one signup form per list. In Aweber, you can have as many forms as you want per subscriber list and you can track the performance of each one independently. I'm using aweber and I don't have any problems so far.

Aweber is the way to go. Mailchimp is free but they can close your account at any time. So I would go with aweber if your serious about internet marketing.

MailChimp does not allow affiliate marketing. That makes it very difficult to make your list profitable. Apart from this, Mailchimp send autorespnoders very slow.

MailChimp is great at first, but if you're getting into Autoresponders I suggest Aweber. I believe Aweber has a tighter stat system that Mailchimp.

I wouldn't go with MC. I use Get Response and I love it. Haven't tried Aweber, but I might test it out. I like the way AWeber shows its stats (from the screenshots Ive seen), its better than Get Response in that area in my opinion.

I've tried a TON of autoresponders. I'm currently using GetResponse and love it! It has a great price, great deliverability, and the features are top notch. The only downside is they had two outages in the last few months which was pretty annoying.

I'm liking GetResponse a lot. I was trying to decide between Awber and GetResponse and GetResponse had some decent stock photos, so GetResponse won.

Apparently Aweber has added over 3,000 stock photos recently.

So.... GetResponse or Aweber for certain.

The problems with ALL of these stand-alone email systems are:

1) They're all stand-alone. None of them integrate seemlessly with your shopping cart and almost all of the shopping carts do not integrate with a true CRM. This creates a ton more work once you're a bit more established and getting sales. Why? Because you want to market to your existing customers differently than you would to prospects.

2) They'll all lock you out if you get 7 or 8 people clicking the "report as spam" link in the same month that's automatically sent out with every email. Again, not a big deal when you're working with 50 opt-ins, but my hope is that you're promoting something you intend to be successful and that will see rapid growth.

I have also experienced these issues...makes it like walking on eggshells for people to build up a list. So what alternatives do you recommend?

Aweber has got very expensive compared to what it used to be and the more you have on your mailing list the more they charge you - so the greater your success with emailing costs you greater as well!! I don't use them anymore.

Mailchimp I do use and I have one of their old free accounts (not available anymore) so it doesn't cost me a dime but I use it with caution to avoid my account being banned as they don't like MMO marketers, of which I'm one!!

You could try some of the free services such as ListWire but this one posts ads on your pages for you customers to see and it looks amateurish.

AVOID Rapid Mailer as it's a complete and utter waste of time and money - I spent 3 months of my life on it and never sent a single email with it as it just does not work – it's supposed to be a stand alone AR which you buy for a one off payment of around $57.00 last time I looked but the price goes up with every sale.
