How often do you send newsletter to your subscribers?

Hi Warriors, just wondering how often you send newsletter to your list?

And how often you send email promoting affiliate products to them?

For me I send 2 days once with useful information and promote affiliate products at the end of the newsletter.

There are no "right answers" to these questions, are there? It depends so much on subscriber demographics, and can even depend on the niche itself, as well.

(I don't think of them, or refer to them, as "newsletters", myself.)

I usually send email on days 1, 3, 6, 10 and 15 and thereafter at 5-day intervals, with the first promotion typically in the third email, and then further promotions in about one email in three (sometimes one in two). The promotions are only part of the emails (generally about the last third of them).

My subscribers have already seen a content-rich website before opting in, know that I'm an affiliate, and have received a "free report" (or whatever it's called) which served all these purposes, gave them more information, and had included in it some links back to my own site and sometimes even one small product-recommendation.

They also know exactly how many emails they're going to get, and when, and why, and what their contents will be. This increases my open-rates and CTR's dramatically.

It's easy to fulfil their expectations when you're the person who sets their expectations.

The main thing it depends on is how much "trust" they already had to start with. And that, in turn depends on who they are, how you attracted them, what made them opt in, what you sent them for opting in, and especially on "what else they've seen of your sales funnel". So it really does "depend", big time, but the bottom line, for all of us, I think, is that it's about continuity.

Like Lexy said (brilliant post!), it depends on trust.

I don't think I have much to add on... only a few points. It also depends on various contexts. For example, if you promised a 1-week email series providing a short mini-course, you would be expected to have a follow-up of 7 days straight. Or a product-launch strategy... that could be a tues&thurs mailing weekly, for example.

Sometimes I like a push-pull strategy (staggered tempo). But that only works when your branding is there (trust, knowing and liking). I'd do something like provide very good information... and then suddenly disappear off the radar with a teaser and keep them wanting more. (Neurolinguistic programmers call it "fractionation" but call it whatever you want...) The goal is really to win the customer's heart and trust.

It also depends on how many newsletters your prospects are bombarded with daily. You might want to increase frequency or only on off-peak days so you can increase visibility. Test!

      True.

Generally...its not okay not to mail for too long.
people sometimes forget how they signed up ( especially for new subscribers).

Generally, I mail everyday for the first 7 days a subscriber joins me..

I can space out after that.

for affiliate offers ...all depends too.

I know people who mail almost daily ..and promote affiliate offers...and I keep reading and clicking.

What they do is make their email valuable ...then they tie the valuable email to an affiliate offer.

There are many other strategies...but the bottom line is ...send valuable emails ...and people will keep reading ...whether you have an affiliate offer or promote your offers.

Always give value even when you are promoting stuff.

There are a bunch of courses and trainings that all have various opinions as to the answer of your question. Personally my best results (in terms of open rates, engagement and activity) come from constantly changing my mailing frequency.

Now I will say I do my best to build an amazing relationship with my subscribers from the moment they opt in, either thru a product purchase or by downloading a freemium I've created.

But if they get 'used' to hearing from me 3 days a week, or 7 days a week, or once a week, it's easy for them to tune out. So I'll change that frequency like crazy. Like mail 5 days in a row, then only twice the following week. Same goes for email formats, content versus promotions, length and structure.

Keeping my subscribers wondering what's coming next seems to work VERY well. Hope this helps!
