Starting out with List Building

Ok I have been invovled with Internet Marketing for well over a year now & I have learned alot when it comes to building a list, capture emails, landing pages, autoresponders etc..

Now that I am fully ready to go full throttle with email marketing, I have a few landing pages created already with my offers, I have my autoresponder setup, my traffic sources that I will use are (solo ads & the free classified sites)

I just want to be sure that I am on the correct path with what I have learned & how I plan on implenting what I've learned into my business.

So I have mutiple offers I would like to promote (a few paid & a CPA offer) When starting off building a list from the bottom, is it ok to promote a CPA offer thats only maybe giving you
$2-$5 per lead and then promote the high paid offers later? or vice versa.

Im just really stuck on what to promote first & to keep my subscribers long enough to even promote other offers later on. Thanks in advance all are welcome to share

    Test, Test, TEST!

There is no way to know before hand and honestly, you could get totally different results from Classified sites than you would get from Solos.

The only way to 'know' is to test. Send 1000 visitors to CPA offer #1 from traffic source #1 and see what your conversion rate is. Then do the same with traffic source #2, compare results.

Then, repeat that process with CPA offer #2. compare results.

After you've gone this far, you should be able to see some patterns, and pay attention to them... If one traffic source bombed on both tests, maybe run a couple new tests (additional offers, or same offers with new headlines, etc) to the traffic that did convert for you.

Run 1000 clicks through the funnel, track results and compare.

Keep testing like this (only test one change at a time) and you will see what works and what doesn't work. Do more of what works, and keep testing to continually find more things that work.

Thank you for sharing Melanie, I totally understand how important it is to test what your doing online, as that is the only way to know if you are making progress or not. Im also aware that I would have to keep tracking everything I test as well.Above all else youve mentioned, Those will be my 2 main attributes the 2 T's....Testing & Tracking.

Before popping any pitch on your list I would give them value for at least 7 emails. Your conversion would be higher this way.

You are right on track... We usually go with a 3 or 4 to 1 ratio of free value-add emails to 'pitch' emails.

So after 3 or 4 value add emails, we follow up with a product review, recommendation, etc. Every niche differs and dare I say 'testing' again? lol.... Obviously you 'get' that is the only way to know for sure.

For freebie emails, this is really wide-open. You can go into the mindset area, nuts and bolts trainings, how-to stuff, etc. You don't have to create everything here, either... You can share ET The Hip Hop Preacher's awesome motivation videos, Rich Dad's videos, etc. Add your commentary and personality to the email about the 'concept' while sharing other GREAT content.

Another great idea, if you haven't already, is to start another email address and go subscribe to all the big-time MMO folks' email lists... Rob Fore, Ray Higdon, Chris Farrell, if you are more affiliate based, go with those gurus, if you are more MLM based, go with those gurus

But, be sure this is a different address or your email will get blown-the-eff-up and you may end up getting confused or caught up in their marketing messages... Danger, some of these pros have a way of luring you into their system and you must stay focused on your plan.

Use this email account as a great source of information that the big-time folks in your niche are sending out... In what order, what ratio of free vs. paid emails, topics, ideas etc.

Basic success stuff... Find the people producing the results you want to experience and model them!

OMG you mentioned Eric Thomas the Hip Hop Preacher, thats who Iv'e been listening to for the past month now for motivation. Jesus Christ I feel like success is right around the corner from me. With all this knowledge Iv'e gained & support from the WF, I guess taking action is all thats left.

Also I like the idea of creating another email & mirroring the gurus, that sounds like a killer winning strategy.
Thanks again for your advice :-)
