Email marketing 101 for clients need your input

I have a handful of clients I do email marketing campaigns for. I use their Constant Contact or Mail Chimp. I want a system that is automated in a sense that anyone that signs up for anything on their website automatically gets uploaded into their email database after they agree to T&A. I have looked at hubspot but we can't afford or need Ferraris in my market. What is a system I can use with easy to use templates and analytics to show client? I was just thinking to convert all to mail chimp and have custom templates branded for them and just using that generic template every time and just fill it. Let me know thoughts! These are general email newsletters for small companies EX. Lawncare, Lawyers, small ecommerce/brands

      MailChimp Warning... I agree!

      Alexa's comment on MailChimp for IM is very valid. Even though the warning does not answer the original inquiry, it is a VERY important notice for anyone who may stumble across this thread and be considering MailChimp in an attempt to lower or control their business expenses for autoresponder services.
