Should I Put Links to Niche Site On Squeeze Page?

Hello Everyone,.

Not new to building websites and coding but I am a newbie to email marketing and IM. I recently setup an affiliate site that has made a few bucks.

Now I've setup a squeeze page on that same domain to capture leads. I will be promoting products in the same niche to my leads.

Before i drive traffic to that squeeze page,

I was wondering if it is a good idea to put links to my affiliate site on the squeeze page i.e. footer links domain, privacy policy, terms.

My original thoughts behind this was, it would make the squeeze page look more credible.

But,

Then i thought putting the links on that page would drive away potential leads.

What are your experiences? What are your thoughts.

Warmest Regards,

Damian

Yes, you are correct having certain "disclosures" will give your squeeze page more credibility and make people feel more comfortable with giving you their personal information. (email address)

Don't quote me on this, but I believe there might some legal obligations about putting "disclosure" links not only on your actual website but also on your squeeze page. I've noticed that a lot of squeeze pages that I visit from some of the top marketers in the industry have these links on their squeeze pages.

On my squeeze page I have included a contact us page, privacy policy, compensation disclosure, anti-spam disclosure, earnings disclosure, DMCA disclosure, and compensation disclosure.

I don't know if I need that much disclosure... but I'd rather err on the side of over disclosure than get caught with my pants down and not providing enough disclosure.

    That's my 2 cents.

Good luck with your new adventure.

Hi Damian, welcome to the Warrior Forum.

    It will. Some. Almost certainly.

The point about a squeeze page is that you don't have other links to anything else on it. That's actually part of the definition of a squeeze page. That's what a squeeze page is. Explained here: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post9319964

If you want "more stuff to add credibility" (which is along the same lines of what I do, myself, having split-tested so much, in so many different niches - I have a lot of other stuff to add a lot of credibility), then it'll still be an opt-in page, and it may be a very good opt-in page, but it won't really be a squeeze page, per se.

Don't imagine that the biggest list will be the list that produces the most income from the traffic, either: that's almost never the case. Different people opt in to different types of opt-in page. There's much more information, and further links, here: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post7939758

My advice to you (in so far as anyone can helpfully offer any, without knowing any more about exactly what you're doing, what the traffic demographics are, and so on), is to use either a content-rich page or a squeeze page, but don't try to compromise and "improve" a squeeze page by "adding other links" because if you do that, it won't be a squeeze page at all and you may well end up with the worst of both worlds, and probably will (i.e. the list you build may well end up being both a bit smaller and a bit less responsive, too!).

No; no - you shouldn't. It's a bad compromise. Either use a squeeze page, or don't.

Just my perspective (but on a subject of which I've done a lot of split-testing).

Two great responses! both of which have much truth. I love this forum already!

Am also planning on doing some split testing with various types of squeeze pages.

Observing these two ideas. I think i will surely experiment squeeze pages with and without links

For the one with links, I will monitor the traffic patterns on the site to see how many visitors are taken away from the page through the links.

If its significant, I'll scrap the links!

Looking forward to sharing my results back on this thread for anyone else who has this question.

I welcome anymore feedback on this.

      Great info Guys!

    How has it been?

    Any updates so far?

I think it's best to put in stuff like contact us, or privacy policy... they are not distracting in a sense, but testing is the best way to go.

Try not to use any links at all on your squeeze page. You can always provide links or any other information in your follow up emails.

I don't have any website links on my squeeze pages, but it could work quite well for you. It is a good idea to have your logo where people can see it. That way, they will know exactly who you are and they may feel more comfortable with you.

Give it a shot, it wouldn't have any negative effects, so try it.

    Hope this helps

like what @Alexa Smith said, either you use a squeeze page or not.

A squeeze page is solely for collection email addresses, you want your visitor be focused on one thing: getting what you offer in exchange for their email address.

I didn't really see many people putting legal pages on option pages, but they will give extra credibility to your site. Just don't make them fate bold links. soft gray color + smaller font size is good.
