Email Service Which Goes Straight to Primary Inbox

I know I'm not the only one who has this issue...

I ran a crowdfunding campaign about 3 months ago. I have the email and mailing addresses of the backers.

I want to send the backers an email asking them to update their mailing address in case they've moved.

This issue is that all email services have the issue of sending to the "promotions tab" tab of inboxes. Is there a service which can send this type email to the primary inbox or at least the "updates" tab of inboxes?

What you're talking about, here, is primarily a function of the recipients' email client software rather than of "from where it's sent".

The autoresponder services with the highest inbox delivery rates are inevitably the ones who won't allow you to import this kind of "list" without proof that they're correctly opted-in subscribers (and that's among the reasons why they have the highest inbox delivery-rates).

Also, your email copy also affects how email services look at it.
For example if your email copy has a lot of images and links, it can be automatically placed in the promo tab.

There is no email service that goes straight to inbox, as has been said above - each of the receiving email client analyze the email differently, and based on some factors - like email content, address, ips sent, spam complaints or other flags etc.. they decide whether to put it in inbox, spam, or promotion tab.

Aweber has great delivery service and tools for assisting you with it, indicating the probability that your email will reach the inbox, and they keep their servers quite clean, but they are expensive especially if you mail in bulk.

      Thank you for your replies.

But when you order something from, say, Amazon.com, it goes straight to your "updates" tab or primary inbox. How can I do the same thing? I'm not sending out promotional material but an address confirmation email for something people have paid for.

Honestly, I don't think there is a single service out there that can guarantee your emails will always hit the proper folder in Gmail.

Even with my testing with my own lists...sometimes I will, and sometimes I won't with my testing email addresses.

Also, I notice when I sign up for something...even the most highly reputable companies like Aweber and Get Response (which I use)...will sometimes hit the right folder properly, and sometimes they simply won't.

I still think your best bet is going with either one of the two I mentioned...but there isn't a service running that could completely guarantee this 100%, and if the did, I'd say their complete liars. lol...

Email marketing just isn't effective anymore is it?

The best you can hope for is a 22% open rate.

That's still pretty effective, and email is still one of the top trusted online communications for consumers.. it's not as effective as it was, but it's still one of the leaders...

I've had a similar issue. My emails no matter how simple are going into the junk mail folder on outlook. BUT I can forward a complex HTML email from a known spamer like "Sage Software" and it goes through to the outlook inbox. After looking at the html on "Sage" and "Soup Plantation" I narrowed it down to an "unsubscribe" ASP call that is in both html emails that is allowing their emails to get past the outlook junk mail box "consistently". If I remove or alter the ASP html reference in ANYWAY it goes to my outlook junk mail box. So my conslustion is there are rules that must be used when sending email to avoid the junk mail box. Unfortunitally I don't know what they are but I spent several days figuring out why these two known spammers were getting through and my simple text emails went to junk mail. To test it further I subscribed to a on-line mail service to send out my flyers to my users and I found that they also had an unsubscribe features that allowed their emails to get past the outlook junk mail folder. This is not a solution but it's a heck of allot better than telling you "Don't send spam" LOL

It's possible to hit the primary box consistently but your content has to be written a certain way. Most autoresponder style content will not end up in primary. Be creative, and test, test, test!

I use Getresponse and their deliverability is great as well.. But I think the most important thing to get your subscribers to open your email is to give them things they really want..

Good email marketing is definitely when your subscribers miss your email when you are not mailing them

No autoresponder can promise 100% inbox rate. There are always soooo many variables involved like what email you mail out with, what is written in the message itself, the email client you're mailing too, etc.

Knowing all that, I use GetResponse and my deliverability rates are very good, and I can't recommend them enough.

I think the OP isn't talking email marketing sending promotional messages) but rather to make sure his clients got the emails after thy made a purchase.

If that is true, I suggest you call them up and ask them to whitelist your email address.

Like everyone above me said, there is no guarantee your emails goes to the inbox but getting your emails address whitelist will minimize the risk of been sent to spam box.
