Getresponse hotmail deliverability problems

Hi, for several weeks my Getresponse campaigns are having a very and unusual soft high bounce rate (30-40%) due (confirmed by Support) to a big hotmail deliverability problem.

Do you have the same problem as me?

Support say they work on it, but the problem is still unresolved.

I await your comments and advice.

Soft bounce issues normally occurs when the IP reputation is not very high. Please contact the customer support of Getresponse and asked them to replace your IP.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck

    Thanks Bobby for your advice.

I contacted support many times, but really their support service is quite poor. Most of the times it takes several days to respond, and when they respond, their response are generic and non related to my problem.

None of the times that I have contacted support have taken the time to fix the problem.

I have been receiving a lot of spam from people
using GetResponse accounts over recent weeks.

To be clear, by "spam" I mean lists I didn't join,
belonging to people I've never heard of, importing
    my information into GetResponse.

Unless GetResponse takes action on this issue
    expect deliverability to get worse.

Damn, I thought I was the only one. one campaign I'm working with has a bounce rate of around 8% for a list of 13,000. That's over 1,000 emails not being received every time one is sent out.

Hi Kevin, I have tried all support channels.

They respond very kindly, saying they'll fix the problem, but never solved.

Today I received this message in response to a ticket, with a very similar response to that always send me:

    "(2014-09-29 18:56:59) GetResponse Support:

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting GetResponse
    Compliance Department.

Increased bounce rate is a result of some
issues with Hotmail.com who is blocking
some part of messages sent through our
system. I can assure you that we have taken
all necessary steps to resolve this problem
    as soon as possible.

Hi, I would like to add my experiences to this thread too. I have (had) full intentions to use Get Response as my main auto responder and taken up the free trial.

I created the first few newsletters and I'm pretty with happy with GR so far. However, I tested by signing up with 2 Hotmail accounts and 1 Gmail. No problems with Gmail but although the Hotmail subscribers show up on my list in GR, the Hotmail accounts received no emails at all.

I can't overlook this problem surely? I contacted GR and I'm waiting for a reply but after seeing so many threads on this forum about the problems, I don't hold out much hope in them fixing it.

I also have an account with Fluttermail. I done the same tests as I had with GR and am pleased to say everything was delivered perfectly. I think I may use Fluttermail and forget about GR for now.

For those who are interested, I am using a Leadpages squeeze page that single opts in to my Fluttermail list.

The only feature that seems to be lacking on Fluttermail over GR so far is the ability to send emails at a specific time of day. Bit of a shame, but deliverability is surely far more important?

I thought I was the only one. I have several emails I tested with GetResponse. My hotmail address is not receiving emails. I filled my optin with my hotmail address again and I get a message saying I already joined... yet I didn't get the message in my hotmail inbox. It works fine for gmail and roundcube.

I've noticed the same thing with hotmail and GetResponse. Luckily, there are so few people signing up for my list using Hotmail accounts that I don't really worry about it. My bounce rate isn't anywhere near the OP's. I'm well under 1%.

Hotmail / Live tends to block all new ip address or send it to spam folder until ip reputation is established. You may also want to try enabling reverse dns as well, which should help with the bounces.

I have a higher bounce rate (from 10-17%) with GR for a long time. I called the support today. They asked me to use another send from email to try if it helps. I use the same send from email on aweber and mailchimp and I have never had any problem.

A client of mine got this email from Aweber. Maybe give it a try on GetResponse -

From Aweber - It's time to change your email address if it includes info@, support@, contact@, webmaster@, admin@ or similar generic addresses.

They have the highest reports of spam. As a result, AWeber won't accept them anymore.

On a side note, I read an article earlier today saying that the reply address is one of the factors gmail uses to determine whether your message goes in the primary tab or promotions.

I used a non info@ email address and got even higher bounce rate (26%)! I called the support and received the same reply as Kevin got. I sent out a broadcast yesterday using the info@ email address. The bounce rate is 3.53%. A lot matter but still high.

How about Mailchimp? Would it be a better option?

I've been working in GR for the past several months for clients and we've always had problems with bounce rates, especially those readers who have hotmail. Long story short - we had to resend to hotmail subscribers over and over and finally gave up. I ended up forwarding them the email from my gmail account!

Searched Google for the same issue and found this thread. I am not really having a bounce rate problem but more of an unopened problem with pretty much anything that is NOT gmail.

I tested my list with own personal Hotmail account as well as my girlfriends and I had the same issue, the email does not go to junk - it just vanishes. I am still on a trial and think I might go back to Aweber but I like GR because they approve SOI campaigns.

My unopened list includes MSN, Yahoo and mostly Hotmail addresses.

I think the ip for the Getresponse is suspension by most of the email service provider thats why they are facing the problem, if there is not the ip issues then support can over come the problem. one must check it manually. to send email for few members.

Maybe it is time to ask every person that subscribes to your list to put your address on their SAFE LIST.

You should tell them to do this AFTER they subscribed to your list.

But that would imply that the e-mails are going to JUNK. From the testing I did with Hotmail addresses my newsletters are not being delivered at all.

If so many people are having issues with Get response then why don't you shift to aweber or some other email provider? I know its not the easier thing to do, but it'll be better in the long run won't it? The issues described in this thread just seem frustrating.

Also, if you think moving is not an option then hire an expert to determine what is causing the deliverability problems. You may get some good pointers. Winningemail lets you check your domain for free. You may be able to see what the problem is.

Have you checked the price difference between getresponse and aweber for a list of about 10,000? I'm asking because I couldn't see prices on their site and the last time I checked I was shocked at how much more aweber costs than getresponse. Of course if your people aren't getting your emails then that cost would probably be worth it...

UPDATE: I found awebers pricing and for a list of 10,000 aweber is $130.00 per month ( $1560.00 per year) compared to only $145.00 for the entire year with getresponse. http://www.aweber.com/pricing.htm

I did a search on Google for "deliverablity of aweber verses getresponse" and read these two blog posts were interesting: http://mattwolfe.net/getresponse-vs-aweber/ and http://growmap.com/getresponse-aweber-mailchimp/

Getresponse allows you to import your entire list with no optin required whereas aWeber wants all of your customers to do single optin.
