Start buying up solo ads of vendors from targeted list or maybe even consult with a broker to get the best quality leads.

Pick 5 or 6 venders and put equal amount of money on each solo ad, which ever vendor transfers the most opt ins concentrate on that list depending on how much you want to invest.

Make sure you have a decent squeeze page setup up to entice opt ins.

Also don't be too quick to sell products, think long term and start building relations ships and the results will follow.

Please excuse my commenting that it's not a great question, because the fastest ways of building email lists tend, overall, to build poor quality lists with low responsiveness and low open-rates. Doing it slowly, qualifying the traffic thoroughly, and ensuring the best possible targeting, is a much better bet.

Using PPC traffic and attracting it to a page with an opt-in is one way that can be both fast and good, if you have the right skill-set, and if you can afford it.

What I'd suggest is you start with ONE paid traffic method and become really good.

With a fitness product, here what I would do:

        1. Send some PPC (Facebook or Bing, or Adwords) traffic to get conversion numbers ($100 or a little more).

Note: you do this only to get numbers, test and tweak your sales page and funne. The goal here isn't to make a profit.

        2. Once you get your numbers, make a list of 100 people in the fitness niche, and get their email address. Ask them if they want to send an email endorsing your product for 100% commission. Your goal here is not to make a profit. Your goal is to build a buyers list.

Note: for this step, you need to have a high converting sales funnel with a high priced item (fitness coaching/consultation for example) to increase your visitor value.

        3. Sell products in the backend.

        4. Rince and repeat the above, create more products, grow your list of subscribers, develop relationship with people in your list, etc...

        Franck

I wonder why 'fastest' is always important. You can't start with a saleable item, you have to start with the crowd following you, first

You posted this question in a forum right? People look for answers to questions in forums. Why not find forums in your niche . Answer fitness questions that people have and put your website in your signature When they click on your signature they will be taken to a squeeze page so you can capture their email.

If fast is what you're after, solo ads targeted to your niche are the way to go. You can reach thousands of people in a matter of days.

I would recommend testing a few different solo ads and don't put all your eggs in one basket. Check out Clickonomy and ezines-r-us and also ask for recommendations for solo ads in a forum dedicated to your niche.

Some ads will definitely perform better than others so always track and test.

I think FB and Bing PPC is a good route to go.

Also "non Traditional" Solo Ads is another way.
I say non traditional because most solo ads accommodate the IM and personal improvement niches.

But there are some that cater to weight loss.

I know Charlie Page's Directory of Ezines seem to benefit others in this manner. He has built up a very solid reputation for the resources he has.

I honestly think its very short landing page with some sort of contect (can be relatively small prize) + some ads.
Requirment to participate and have a chance win the prize(s) would be providing email and maybe sharing it on facebook/twitter/etc.

But i dont think that would be the way of building a good list >_<

Sign spotted in an auto repair shop:

        Auto Repair

        > Good
        > Fast
        > Cheap

        Pick any two
