Best Converting List Building Traffic

20 replies
A lot of the time I hear that solo ads are the best way to build your list or maybe ppc is the best way.

I never really hear how that traffic source converts once into the funnel and the quality.

What would you say is your top converting traffic source once into a funnel?

    Consider the question from the other side...

    Are you more interested in buying something if you're ACTIVELY searching?

    Or if you simply open an email that leads you to a sales page?

    The first is forum traffic, PPC traffic, and perhaps media advertising.

    The second would be solo ad traffic.

    At least, this is what I've found.

    Yes, solos are great but unless you have a really good funnel there's a very good chance of getting opt-ins but no sales...
    That's why Ad Swaps are even better - at least you're not paying anything and if your funnel works you'll even make money
    And of course the no 1 way to add people to your list is to create a product
    Good luck mate!

    I personally think there are a lot of factors involved here. Product in the funnel, funnel set up, sales copy, benefits, the buyer etc.

    I don't think people just buy stuff because they have been tipped into a funnel.

    Even the worst traffic source could be made to convert better than the so called best. We are dealing with people here.

    Just my thoughts.

    I feel these three works the best depending upon what exactly your goals are:

    PPC works well for sites selling products or offering a service

    Facebook - For building brand recognition and awareness

    Solo ads - Highly targeted for my list building and works the best by far

    It depends upon what you are promoting. If you are promoting a product or service then ppc is the best way to go.

    If you are want to spread awareness regarding your brand than you should go for social media marketing because in that case you are not targeting some specific audience your brand actually belongs to general public.

    You should go for solo ads if you want to build your list fast because it is a cost effective solution. PPC is much expensive in that matter. Also it not a bad idea to access some webmaster to buy some paid ads.

    Another great option which I plan to test in the near future is launching a free WSO with quality info product. I think its a great way to build a list. Optionally, we can work on creating a cheaper product (between $1 to $4) and build a buyers list so that we can pitch high ticket products in the back end funnel or in the future.

    It totally depends on the type of site you advertise, do you wanna rech gamblers? People that wanna get informed? People that wanna buy something?

    Of course the highest converting and most valuable traffic is from a
    customer list. You usually get access to this list through doing JVs.

    The problem with solo ads is that most people that sell them only promote your offer to their freebie seeker list. Hey some of them ONLY have a freebie seeker list. There have been so many WSO's the past year(s) on how to get started selling solo ads even if you do'nt have a list yet. So these people basically built their list only with low quality traffic, and you can't expect to see good results from that.

    My top 2:
    -> Buyers list traffic
    -> Forum marketing

    But what about this statistic that most marketers would tend to agree with;
    2% of sales are made on the first contact
    3% of sales are made on the second contact
    5% of sales are made on the third contact
    10% of sales are made on the fourth contact
    80% of sales are made on the fifth to twelfth contact

    if you have your own list then I think email marketing if done right is the best source. Solo ads may or may not work properly. Depends upon the person you hire. I didn't have a good experience with them.

    PPC also works awesome if you have the right people working with you. Its best for selling products and services.

    I test out FB traffic, mobile traffic, PPV traffic sources and so on.
    I spent a lot of time and money to test all these traffic sources.
    I got very good results on traffic costs with these sources, but from my experiences the best traffic to build responsive list from which will make you money are solo ads.

    Not only the best, but also fastest and easiest too.

    I also found out that people who subscribe to my list, who come from Facebook ads, didn't read emails (their open/click rate is 3-4 times lower) as leads I get from solo ads, which is understandable. If traffic comes from email then their habit is that they read emails( I have a similar experience with PPV, mobile and some co-reg traffic sources)

      I agree with Ninosem

      Solo ads are a very very quick way of getting traffic to build your list.

      I started out with PPC but do not bother with it anymore.

      The important thing is TESTING. Sad but a lot of marketers don't do this because they are simply looking for that quick buck. I can't say I blame them but they just don't stop long enough to see what works.

      As far as Conversions are concerned you really need to be ready to turn that traffic into customers and it is not by blasting them with Buy Me Buy Me emails.

      Work at building a relationship with them.

      I hope this helps

    I found forum, search and FB traffic to generate quality prospects.
    I use solo ads as my last traffic source (depending on the list holder and the offer)
